In a friendship Andrew is a stable factor. You don't take him to parties and he's not the most funny guy, but if you need someone to help you move, or you need solid advice; he's your man.

Andrew gets shit done. He doesn't like half work and once he has decided what needs to happen, it happens.
This does mean he's not always very good in compromising. You need rock solid arguments to change his mind. Convincing him something is not worth putting that much effort into is usually a lost cause.

He’s willing to go very far for others. Sidenote here is that it does need to come from both sides. He might be willing to come at 2 am because you need help, he won’t let people use him.
[*] Confident and assertive
He generally doesn’t doubt his own opinions, is verbally strong and an emotionally balanced person.

The moment something greatly intrigues him, it will take obsessive shape. This doesn’t have to disrupt his day to day life, but it’s definitely a very real possibility. If he gets over an obsession, that void is quickly filled with something else.

He doesn't have a lot of humor. Getting him to really laugh is also quite the challenge. A grin or a smile; not impossible, but your jokes need to be pretty good to get more out of him.

Andrew has a fairly dominant personality. He likes to be in charge in a team and hates losing control of himself. He has a hard time relying on others and can be extremely critical on both his own work as well as that of others.

As the oldest child of hardworking parents he learned at a young age to be independent. Hij grew up to a confident young man with a flair for leadership, but also a person who was quite serious and prone to delve into certain things far too deeply.
That obsessive personality is also the main reason he often kind of neglected his social life, but it made him excel in his business studies.
He had a bright future ahead of him.

But all of that changed when things went downhill with Kevin, his best friend over the years. Kevin had always been less stable than Andrew, prone to depression and to efface himself, but one day Andrew started to realize that things were far worse than he had previously assumed.
Kevin became withdrawn and quiet and even for a workaholic like Andrew it was clear something was very much off. Kevin became harder and harder to reach.
And all of that came to a climax when Kevin ended his life one night by jumping in front of a train.
But it didn't stop there. Andrew didn't believe Kevin had done this voluntarily. Another problem in Kevin's life had been debts owed to some very, very dark people and Andrew became convinced they had something to do with it.
And so it came to pass that he did not rise in the company ranks like everyone had expected him to. Instead, Andrew got a simple job and spent almost all his free time finding out the truth.

Where exactly in this he is in the RP his in depends on the plot.
