[i]Io is a stern old man with the world views to match. While strongly opposed initially to the formation of Kyokujitsu no Tochi, he relented due to requests from his people. His strong family bonds are weak only to his pride, due to his status as leader of the Masazane clan and his legendary skill as a smith. He has not spoken to his son who lives in the capital of Kyokujitsu no Tochi for many years due to him marrying to no benefit to the clan.

He has very little patience for anything he deems as either insufficient effort or sheer stupidity, resulting in him having an exceptionally harsh relationship with Shikata Ayameko, to the point he has called for multiple votes of no confidence in her and install himself as leader of Kyokujitsu no Tochi.[/i]

【[u]History[/u]】
[i]Masazane Io grew up as a product of hard work, dedication, and raw skill. Born, raised, and now leading the Land of Iron, Io has a strong nationalistic pride ingrained into him from birth. 

Masazane Io excelled at every stage of his life and even early on people within the Land of Iron understood he would take up the mantle of leadership as soon as the environment was right. He graduated from the academy at the top of his class, with near perfect scores in practical and written examinations.

By age 21, Io was leader of his clan and, by virtue of that status, leader of the Land of Iron.
