One could gauge that there is an equal amount of his golden mane as well as black and red and blue ink all over his arms, torso, and neck areas of his body. Upon first look, one wouldn’t even begin to think that he’s actually a full-blooded Prae. He does in fact have the Prae crystal dead-center in his forehead, though it is less obvious than most of his race choose to present it. Out of choice, Jaakuna always covers it with his hair(let’s say he doesn’t want everyone to know of his make). Underneath that hair, one might catch the glimmer of an emerald, almost jade-colored light emit from his two eyes. Jaakuna is built within that sweet spot of lean and skinny. For his height and certain extracurricular he embarks on, it’s perfect for him. This build allows him to be as agile as he wants to be and it enables him to not have to worry about certain things happening to him because either he would be too skinny to do anything about it or too fat/muscular to properly respond and retaliate to it. Not one to stray too far from his roots, Jaakuna’s fashion sense has not altered in all the time he came to his own. Simply put, at all times, you’ll catch him in a red hoodie(with zipper), olive-green pants, and simple(yet durable) shoes. Don’t expect there to be a shirt under that hoodie, though. Jaakuna pride himself in showing his body, so he opts for going without any t-shirt or tank top of any kind. Plus, it allows him to show off his ink and what person wouldn’t want to see that? Speaking of his tattoos, it’s entirely of tribal origins. There’s no way of uniquely describing them since they have such random strokes in some areas. One thing that is certain is that Jaakuna’s tattoos cover about 80% of his upper body, save for his head and inner-elbows, but everywhere else is covered in ink. His back and neck, and parts of his arms are simply covered with black ink, with strokes of ancient tribal style. His shoulder have something akin to what the human history called “Aztec”. It could be noted by the edges and the outer-layer of a red and blue triangle strokes in which the black “sun” rests within. Along his wrists, Jaakuna has a swirly tattoo in which it looks like retracting fire. There are twelve strokes of “retracting fire” in total with four on each wrist(two outer-wrist, two inner-wrist, and two on the side-wrist). Each stroke alternates between a bright, fire red, and the cyan blue shade completely inverse to it. They go from the base of the wrist all the way to at the exact point of the arm where forearm meets elbow. Jaakuna’s neck tattoo can be described rather simply. In appearance, it’s most common descriptor is akin to that of a collar. Given JAakuna’s borderline-masochistic nature, he found it highly ironic - and incredibly brilliant - to get a tattoo that would further embellish that side of him in a satirical way. This tattoo in question features wavy strokes that start at the base of his collarbone and go around until it meets at the point it started. Like most of his tatts, it is black in color. As for the rest of his tattoos, they are mostly patterns that match his body parts(breastplate-shaped designs along his pecs; shoulder blade patterns to match his shoulder blades, and spinal-like pattern to match his spine). The front torso tattoos go to above his abdomens and the back torso cover most of the upper-back and all of his spine.[/indent] [h2][sub][color=FC1800]P[/color][sub][sup][color=black]ersonality[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h2][sup][sup] [sup]_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup] [indent]On the surface, Jaakuna is charismatic and full of energy. Never is there a minute spent with him that isn’t without some kind of vibes being felt. Some of them might be exceedingly positive and could potentially give people the impression that this guy is fun to be around. However, there have been times that the complete opposite has happened. There have been times where Jaakuna has exhibited certain characteristics that are often associated with someone who has multiple personality disorder. Not quite the levels of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but there are some similarities. The most important being the changes to his outward personality. Usually, Jaakuna is, as noted above, charasmatic and full of fun-loving energy, but there comes a moment - even if just brief - where there is a switch that goes off in Jaakuna’s head. In that moment, he starts to demonstrate aggressive behavior. It’s not a gradual change. It’s literally as if turning off and on a light switch. One moment, he’ll be smiling, but just as his a second passes in time, Jaakuna will become - well, the best way to describe it is that he becomes a madman. Years and years Jaakuna has been like this and when he shifts into what just dub “Akuma”, he becomes someone else. He becomes something else. He becomes the kind of Prae that, to the mortals of Medius call, a psychopath. There is a rage that takes over that not all can prepare for. He becomes a nasty, albeit juvenile, monster that verbally - and sometimes physically - wreaks havoc on pretty much anyone around him. Safe to say, he grows to be increasingly difficult for anyone having to deal with him. And because of this change, his violent tendencies are more likely to be the first thing that he’ll resort to rather than diplomatic, nonviolent actions.[/indent] [h2][sub][color=FC1800]H[/color][sub][sup][color=black]istory[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h2][sup][sup][sup]______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup] [center][h2][sub][color=FC1800]R[/color][sub][sup][color=black]ise of the[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][sub][color=FC1800]D[/color][/sub][sub][sub][sup][color=black]emon[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h2] [sup][sup][sup]______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup][/center] [indent]One’s history is always a peculiar thing. Sometimes it’s unique to the one person and sometimes many people share it. This happens either because they went through similar experiences or that they meshed so well with those people that their life experiences aligned with each other as if like a row of dominos. In that sense, one could even put up a bet that maybe these people understand each other and know what the others feel. Perhaps through mutual understanding, one’s pain could be another’s burden. Of course, for Jaakuna Kossetsu, that is not the case. For him, the majority of what could be called his childhood, was spent being strapped to a machines of various makes. Anything from electroshock machines that were wired to his head to exposure to harmful vis that was circumvented through tubes connected to his chest, arms, and legs, Jaakuna was put through experiment after experiment. The reason? To see how much the Prae body could withstand and what possible advancements could be made. They said it was in the name of science. And maybe Jaakuna believed them. After all, when they started, he was merely five, so undergoing the tests and the variety of experiments seemed like fun. Until they weren’t. When they stopped being done in the name of science and were shifted into the realm of self-satisfaction, it became obviously clear to Jaakuna - who was fourteen at the time of his realization - that the person who was in charge of the experiments was using it as a reason to fill his need for sadistic torturing. And the worst of it all was that this man - the man that had spent the past decade torturing Jaakuna beyond belief - was a one Hiretsuna Kossestsu, Jaakuna’s Father. When it started, Jaakuna trusted the man, but as they continued, not only did Jaakuna’s trust turn into contempt, but near the end of the experiments, Jaakuna’s one innocent disposition became warped. In a byproduct of all of the electroshocks delivered to his head, Jaakuna’s brain chemistry was altered in ways that no one could ever understand. And one night, when he was scheduled to undergo one of the usual experiments that involved injected Jaakuna with evil vis, something snapped within Jaakuna’s mind/ On that night, guards came for Jaakuna. But what they found was not a spree of passive-aggressive, snide remark, but rather an animal. Some still talk about what happened that night. Some talk about what happened at Facility B. They don’t know the specifics, but some say a demon was born that night. This demon was said to have long, dark hair, wings of shadow and fire, and a scream that gave sirens a run for their money. In that night, a great shadow brought death and destruction, including to Hiretsuna Kossetsu, who was said to be reduced to a bleeding corpse. When they found him, before he drew his last breath, there was only one word that he spoke.. “Aa..kuna..” Because of how hard his musky voice was, those who were present on the scene assumed he said “Akuma”, which was the name to be associated with what happened at Facility B. [/indent] [center][h2][sub][color=FC1800]D[/color][sub][sup][color=black]ealing with the[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][sub][color=FC1800]D[/color][/sub][sub][sub][sup][color=black]emon[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h2] [sup][sup][sup]______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup][/center][indent]From when Jaakuna’s mind went blank till just a few months later, he started to recollect what had happened. He started to remember - slowly, mind you - but it came to him. Each day was like reliving it over and over again, right next to the voice of The Demon retelling it as if it was his greatest achievement. It was every night that the story of how The Demon killed everyone. It didn’t matter if they were innocent or not. He spoke of how he relished in the thought of them dying by his hands and how every piercing strike he made and every seared corpse made him come alive. Truly, this was the work of a true demon. And it was at the end of each time he made Jaakuna hear every detail that made Jaakuna realize that he had to keep this demon in check - this Akuma, if you will - had to be kept in check. If Jaak didn’t do it, then he would run rampant on everyone. It didn’t matter if the opposite end of one of his rampages was a woman, a man, a child, or even an infant - this demon only revelled in the act of killing and did so with malice intent. Jaakuna didn’t have a choice [i]but[/i] to surpress this demon for as long as he could. It didn’t matter what he had to do, which knowing how overwhelming the Demon was, he knew that there would come times that Jaakuna would have to do things that went against everything he stood for. But, to ensure that no one innocent died, sacrifices would have to be made. So, over the years, Jaakuna wandered the lands in which he would come to find was known as Medius, the land of the Mortals - the Humans. He ventured throughout all corners of this realm, doing what he needed to do to ensure his survival. Given his long lifespan, he knew he would be around for a while, so he would had spent several Medius years in one place that he grew attached to. Everywhere from large cities to small villages, Jaakuna stayed in all of them. Some were obviously better than others. Some days Akuma would beckon him to commit violent crimes and some days he didn’t surface. There was even a time that Jaakuna didn’t sense Akuma for a full Medius decade. And then, out of the blue, Akuma resurfaced. And because Jaakuna hadn’t felt his presence in some time, it caught him off-guard. It was such a surprise that Akuma was able to take full control of their shared body for a full day. In that time, heinous crimes were committed. And Akuma did it while using Jaakuna’s face. The town that Jaakuna had been staying in was the victim to mass murder. It was a small town, more like a village than anything else. Only about two-hundred people resided in it - and all of them were murdered by Akuma’s hands. Any man, woman, child, elder had been slain. And when Akuma gave Jaakuna back control, there was nothing but blood on his hands and on every part of his body. It snapped something in Jaakuna. Something in him, though he didn’t know it at the time, was setting the stage for what Jaakuna’s life would be like. The years that followed this sudden snap, Jaakuna began to embrace him [Akuma]. The beckoning of Akuma began to shift into something that Jaakuna welcomed, not feared. The primal instincts that Akuma had that only allowed room for violent intents was not something Jaakuna ran away from, but instead he welcomed it with open arms. Everything that he had hated about Akuma was now something he began to accept. And just three years ago, Jaakuna found himself at a new town - or rather a large city - by the name of Ominar, where it seemed the Prae have established a large presence(according to the grapevine, at least). When he settled down some roots, getting a job and getting an apartment, Jaakuna found the irony quite hilarious. In all the time he spent running away from his homeland, there was, in fact, a longterm pull guiding him to this place. “Well, I guess we’ve come back home, Aku.” In when Jaakuna said that, there was an ominous laugh that Jaakuna heard from Akuma. Though he didn’t know it at the time, that laugh would soon to be the beginning of the end for Jaakuna. Aside from the bare minimum(his wallet and cellphone). Though, he does have one thing that he always keeps - well wears - on him at all times. Some call it gauntlets, some call them gloves, but to Jaakuna, they are something that he has spent years saving up for, even more trying to perfect. These gauntlets are made from a special kind of alloy that is a naturally complementor to channeling vis into them through use of vis crystals that he has managed to get over his travels. They appear to be like ordinary gloves. They are black and have red lining on the edges. There are three crystals in each glove and five miniature crystals where each knuckle resides. This allows him to channel his vis into them and amplify his natural magic when needed.[/indent] [h2][sub][color=FC1800]C[/color][sub][sup][color=black]apabilities[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h2][sup][sup][sup]______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup] [h3][sub][color=FC1800]M[/color][sub][sup][color=black]ental[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h3][sup][sup][sup]______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup] [indent]With the experiments that he endured in Facility B, as well as the constant struggle he endures to maintain control of his mind and lose it to Akuma, Jaakuna has to persevere through every day. There is no telling whether or not that Akuma will take over and wreak havoc on pretty much everyone - and everything - in his sight. Because of the fear that Akuma will take control, Jaakuna’s awareness is heightened. His ability to sense danger is also heightened. Call it his natural instincts or whatever you have it, but there is a sensation that goes through his body that allows Jaakuna to more or less predict when danger is approaching and his mind will send signals throughout his body - namely his limbs -and they will react accordingly. Through no fault but Hiretsuna’s, JAakuna’s memory falls a bit flat when compared to others. To those who know him(but don’t know about his past) would simply say he’s selective about what he remembers or doesn’t remember. Of course, this is simply not true. The fact of the matter is that, due to the continuous exposure to electroshock therapy, Jaakuna’s memory skips a beat sometimes and, despite trying with all of his might, he just can’t seem to remember certain things. Of course, being the person that he is, Jaakuna laughs it off, and tells those in his company that he’s [i]choosing[/i] not to remember it, which brings us to the term of “Selective Memory”. But the most important - and quite possibly most significant - change is that Akuma displays something that the masses know as [b]Feral Mind[/b]. What this does is pretty simple: by tapping into the most primal of instincts, Akuma does away with all of things except animistic instincts. Thanks to the kind of demon that Akuma is rumored to be, all animal-based attributes are enhanced as well as a suppression of pain. What this means is that, even though he will experience pain through physical injuries, his mind won’t recognize it, thus it won’t register to Akuma to stop everything he is doing.[/indent] [h3][sub][color=FC1800]P[/color][sub][sup][color=black]hysial[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h3][sup][sup][sup]______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup] [indent]As the result of a few things - Akuma, the experiments, and natural athleticism - Jaakuna has a surprisingly high physical prowess. The years spent on Medius, he has picked up a trick or two. Specifically, he has studied various forms of martial arts that came to his attention - and he’s managed to master a couple of them. He’s managed the free-form movements of capoeira, the powerhouse stances of karate, the grounded Judo, and overall street fighting knowledge. COmbine that with his agile body, this makes for the complete, fighting machine package. His preferred method of fighting seems to be using his vis as an enhancement to his general attributes while also using his magical talents to create a sort of hybrid fighting style. Of course, when the situation will call for it, Jaakuna can rely on his martial prowess to do away with groups of enemies if need be. Granted, if they are hand-heavy with magic, that might prove to be difficult - but not impossible. In the event that Akuma takes control of the shared body he and Jaakuna reside in, there are a few things to note. The first, of course, is that Jaakuna’s emerald eyes shift into piercing red and his blonde hair’s vibrant gold is decreased to almost a greyish-yellow and it gains a few black streaks going from the center and to the ends. His physique gets slightly more bulkier, which adds to the demonic shift in personality. As such, his physical strength increases slightly because of it. Speed also is increased. The most important - and quite possibly most significant - change is that Akuma displays something that the masses know as [b]Feral Mind[/b]. In a nutshell, Feral Mind is the a state of mind that gives one a more animalistic mentality, in which one [Akuma] loses all sense of right and wrong, and only acts/reacts with primal instincts. With Feral Mind active, Akuma will gain a significant increase of all physical aspects and gains an unmeasurable bloodlust that won’t be satisfied until it has killed. It should be noted that, because of this bloodlust, Jaakuna’s/Akuma’s vis changes rapidly, appearing almost distorted. The more he kills and more wrath he feels, the deeper red it will become and might even affect the emotions of those around him. Specifically, those who are weak-willed might be suspect to an intense pressure, begging to crush them where they stand. This, added to everything else, makes Akuma a truly ferocious beast.[/indent] [h3][sub][color=fc1800]M[/color][sub][sup][color=black]agical[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h3][sup][sup][sup]______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________[/sup][/sup][/sup] [h3][sub][color=black]T[/color][sub][sup][color=FC1800]he[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub] [sub][color=black]D[/color][/sub][sub][sub][sup][color=FC1800]emon's[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub] [sub][color=black]S[/color][sub][sup][color=FC1800]hadow[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h3][indent]On that night where Facility B was visited by a great demon, that demon cast a great shadow. This shadow was said to emit from the very darkness from The Abyss itself. And from that darkness, tendrils sharper than steel were said to be able to pierce through solid, steel walls as if it were like a butter knife(and those walls was creamy butter). It was also said this demon - whom had taken control over a teen boy - was able to phase in and out of portals that oozed with icky, black goo, and when he reappeared, was able to surround himself within a smokey fog that moved just as fast as highspeed train. It was said that, this shadow of a demon was one of the most fearsome of sights to behold. And that was just the start of it. Naturally, with this being an advanced form of Darkness Manipulation, The Demon’s Shadow gives its user the auto-ability to see within the dark, use the dark as its fuel, and when the time came for it to strike, it released it in full.To use such darkness flawlessly will doubtless give the implication that Jaakuna, though limited when he has control, is still able to use it efficiently. While he can wrap himself in darkness, it’s not as well as Akuma. While he is able to teleport himself using shadow portals, they don’t explode when reappears somewhere else. He might be able to create constructs of either shadows or dark energy, they aren’t as strong as when Akuma takes control of their shared body. When it comes to all aspects of The Demon’s Shadow, the host is only able to access so much of its full potential, while the actual demon can do so much more.[/indent][h3][sub][color=black]T[/color][sub][sup][color=FC1800]he[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub] [sub][color=black]D[/color][/sub][sub][sub][sup][color=FC1800]emon's[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub] [sub][color=black]F[/color][sub][sup][color=FC1800]lame[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h3][indent]The second of terrors form that night, The Demon’s Flame is more unforgiving than anything ever to exist. Flames that appear redder than a red dwarf and hotter than the hottest of flames, it emits a powerful sense of heat added to its burning capabilities. Though only seen a few times, those who have compared it to hellfire, which is a rare sight in itself. They said - right before being scorched alive - that they heard cries of those who had fallen victim to the flames. Might have been the screams of the one who set them ablaze or shrieks of the dead. All that was known was excruciating agony, as well as a deep sorrow that was explainable(among other things). Frankly, The Demon’s Flame is among one of the worst of any fire-based ability to ever come into existence of any of the three realms. It’s not only potent in its core temperature of 300°F but it also is capable of scorching solid steel(with drawbacks of course). Through use of The Demon’s Flame, Jaakuna and Akuma are both able to tap into its essence by harnessing a foreign force in their hands, and using it as they both see fit. For JAakuna, his usage isn’t nearly as strong as AKuma’s. It’s limited to not only what he can do, but how effective he can do it. While Akuma can create multiple constructs at a time or summon several “demons” from wherever they may reside, Jaakuna can only do one of those things at a time. One cannot exist while the other remains. When it comes to using its power for offense and defense, Akuma is capable of doing both simultaneously, while Jaakuna is limited to one or the other. He can use it offensively to fire deep red fireballs or a stream of flame that burns anything it touches within its line of sight, but he cannot use it defensively while doing the aforementioned feats. Speaking of defense, within its power, The Demon’s Flame is able to create walls of flame, coat Jaakuna/Akuma with an aura of dark red flame that protects both of them from most attacks(water being the antiflame). This is an ability that is directly tied to Jaakuna’s mental state. As his mind slips further and further into a berserker-like state, the flames will get hotter and more destructive and unstable(like Akuma). However, when JAakuna himself remains in control, the flames, while still effective, are less sturdy and resistant to foreign elements. EVentually they will give way after an onslaught of attacks. Or if concentration isn’t kept, that could be another reason for Jaakuna’s defensive countermeasures to falter and inevitably fail.[/indent][h3][sub][color=black]T[/color][sub][sup][color=FC1800]he[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub] [sub][color=black]D[/color][/sub][sub][sub][sup][color=FC1800]emon's[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub] [sub][color=black]A[/color][sub][sup][color=FC1800]scension[/color][/sup][/sub][/sub][/h3][indent]The Prae are able to enter a state that is called The Manifested State. Each have their differing forms, for each Prae is unique. And for each unique Prae, comes a unique state in which their fullest potential is realized. For Jaakuna, his potential is realized in a different way than most would believe, for Jaakuna’s Anima - his soul - is not some divine deity that grants their Prae a holy form. Jaakuna’s Anima is not some beast with good intentions. His Anima, rather than being a bonded part of him, is in fact, the rumored Demon of Factory B. The demon with red eyes and hair as black as the abyss itself. And in that, comes Jaakuna’s [url=http://i.imgur.com/pRXXuGS.png]Manifested State[/url], which is more of a metamorphosis than anything else. From slender form, Jaakuna’s change is bulkier - more so than when Akuma takes temporary control. His hair grows twice as long, his tattoos light up and ooze shadow and flame, and he grows an extra foot in height just to offset the increase in muscle mass. Jaakuna's skin color becomes a pasty white. From his back are wings of black and red that have a smoky appearance. They almost appear to be pure shadow, pure negativity. These wings are wide and large, able to spread about 3 meters from base to wingtip for each wing, making the total wingspan of 4 meters. In The Demon’s Ascension, the name of Jaakuna Kossetsu no longer exists. He is lost to the identity of The Demon. He is lost to Akuma Kekkon, The Demonic Bloodhound. This [i]is[/i] the full takeover. And when Akuma takes full control, all bets are off. Any limitations that were put in place due to Jaakuna’s influence are removed. Whatever Akuma was implied to be capable of is now a dominant aspect. His limits over shadow and flame have been removed. Now he is able to do what he wants at any given moment. Anything that might’ve been mentioned that Akuma was capable of is now a reality. And any intent that his mind or physical body is or was capable of, has now come to fruition. All bets are off for anyone who wants Jaakuna. It’s Akuma’s show now, and the programming is pure destruction.[/indent][/hider] [/color]
