Welcome the World of Adventum

Welcome, to what will hopefully become a wonderful mini-MMORPG. The style of this RP is D&D like, with basic stats and dice rolling. Below you will find the info needed to get started. Please consider joining our epic adventure!
The Plot: This RP takes place in the mythical medieval times, in a made up land called Adventum. Technology is only advanced to the point of primitive explosive artillery. Your character's race will either be Human, some Human/other hybrid, or other humanoid race (mages are a class, not a race). Once you're ready, you will embark on quests as your character, creating different story arcs as we go along. In the next post, you will learn more. GM vs. Roleplayers: In this RP, I will act as the obstacles that stand in your way of completing quests. This includes challenges, monsters, and villains to block you from reaching your end goal. We will use this site's dice mechanic to determine specific outcomes. If you are a part of a team that is on a quest, title every IC post with the quest name. Free Play: You may not want to join a questing team, or you may have yet to be accepted into one. This makes sense if you don't feel like you can keep up with the posting speed of a team, or if you prefer to be a lone wolf. It is advisable to join a group when taking on Main Quests, strength in numbers. Teaming Up: Most situations can be taken on by more than one character at a time, giving situational advantage to teams rather than loners. On the other hand, having teammates that post slower than yourself my hinder your progress as you wait for them to respond to your posts. The Dice: All outcomes will be determined with this site's dice mechanic. I will add up all your relevant stats and weigh that against your obstacle. This means I will be rolling two dice at once with the first dice being your total points, and the other dice being the strength of the opponent. It will be your roll minus its roll. If the result is positive, you win. If the result is negative, the enemy wins. Simple.
Dice Roll Campaign for "The Tales of Adventum"
Stats: There are only two core stats that go up and down in this game: Power & Cunning. These correspond with the two types of dice roll situations: Combat Situations & Strategic Situations. Classes: Regardless of race, your character will naturally fall under one of three classes: Brute, Tactician, or Mage. Brutes get a 50% boost in Combat Situations, but suffer a 50% loss in Strategic Situations. Tacticians get a 50% boost in Strategic Situations, but suffer a 50% loss in Combat Situations. Mages are well balanced, receiving no boosts or losses. Affinity: Your character can have any one of several affinities. These affinities fall into two major categories (corresponding to Combat Situations or Strategic Situations). Enemies will have a 50% weakness against characters with a particular affinity This will be decided half by logic, and half by chance (i.e. dice roll). Your character can start off with one affinity and gain more through special means. Below are two hiders listing all affinities currently in use. If you wish to add a new affinity, plead your case, and I will consider it. (Suggestion: Don't ask for more. Adding more affinities decreases your odds of having the correct affinity for a situation.)

Dark Magic (Demonic, Occult, Plain Destructive)
Elemental Magic (Earth, Fire, Water, etc.)
Bladed Weaponry (Swords, Axes, Slice and Dice)
Heavy Weaponry (Mauls, Maces, Broadswords, etc.)
Agile Weaponry (Staffs, Nunchucks, Whips, etc.)
Projectile Weaponry (Arrows, Throwing Knives, etc.)
Hand to Hand (Karate, MMA, Kicking Ass)
Explosive Artillery (Bombs, Cannons, Bullets, etc.)

Light Magic (Healing, Purifying, The Feel Goods)
Magic Coercion (Mind Reading, Telepathy, Empathy, etc.)
Gift of Gab (Talking sense, Twisting words, etc.)
Intimidation (Getting quick results the hard way)
Stealth (Be the night. Be the shadow.)
Disguise (Hiding in plain sight.)
Misdirection (Slide of hand, Art of illusion)
Dumb Luck (Hey, better to be lucky than good.)

Character Building: Your character needs to earn experience points in order to grow. There are two ways to earn XP. ONE, come up victorious in a dice roll situation and earn XP based off the situation's difficulty ("Difficulty"/"Number of Participating Characters" [rounded to the nearest whole number greater than 0]). Everyone in the party earns the same XP as long as they contributed. TWO, earn 10XP every time you make your first post on a new page.
Spend 10XP to level your character from Lvl 1 to Lvl 2; Spend 20XP to level your character from Lvl 2 to Lvl 3; Spend 30XP to level your character from Lvl 3 to Lvl 4. I think you get the picture. Every time you level up your character, you may increase their Power OR Cunning by 1. You can also spend XP to add a new Affinity to you character. You get one free one to start with. To get a second, spend 20XP. To get a third, spend 40XP. To get a fourth, spend 80XP. See the pattern? It will be easy for me to keep track of everyone's XP and stats, as I'm the one doing the dice rolling, and I don't have to keep track of every post, just your first post per page (there are 20 posts per page). Therefore, you do not need to keep track of your own XP or stats via your character sheet. All you have to do is PM me when you would like to spend XP, and tell me what you're spending it on.
Tagging:Tagging is used when you're either ready to dice roll, or preparing to dice roll. If you want to take on a dice roll situation all on your own, all you need to do is tag me [@Balthazar007] at the end of your post. If you want to take on a situation with a partner, tag that person at the end of your post instead. If you have been tagged, tag back the person that tagged you at the beginning of your post, and then tag me at the end. For a large scale assault, tag everyone that came before you at the beginning of your post, and then either tag the next person in the chain OR tag me IF you're ready for the dice roll to happen. Talk with your party via OOC to make sure everyone is on the same page; the last thing you need to do is tag someone who is about to take long leave of absence. If that happens, the last person that was in the chain can PM me directly, and ask me to go ahead with the dice roll. IMPORTANT: If you forget to tag someone in your initial posting, they WILL NOT receive a notification if you edit in a tag. If you make that mistake, PM that person to make sure they get the message. The Fluff Stuff: There is no "currency" unless you look at the XP system that way. Instead, you can pretend your character is as rich or poor as you like. I do not monitor their "inventory". It is up to you to explain exactly HOW you character obtains weaponry or supplies within the context of your IC posts. All I ask is that you be reasonable (e.g. you can't possess the "Staff of Merlin" at level 2. Remember, all items are just fluff material anyway, creative freedom if you will. Basic Rules: 1: Don't be rude. 2: GM rulings can be debated, but final decisions must be respected. 3: .... More rules will be added if needed.
