Nickname(s): Annoying Old geezer, The Ferryman (in olden times) Gender: Male Sexuality: Ladies' man. Age of Death: He doesn't even remember. Occupation: Retired old man. Occassional courier. Former Ferryman of the Underworld. Species: ???? Probably a really old demon. Appearance Description: Charon is an old, fierce looking man with a piercing stare that usually dresses in tatters. While he looks more or less human, his true appearance is very gaunt. He has spent so much time in the underworld, that even his would-be demonic features have turned into something else altogether. Personality: Charon is rather cynical and rather bitter, and his bouts of fierce temper have permeated the legends of the underworld for centuries. Even so, he was a most disciplined servant of his duties, and even when Hell changed shape and new Sins were appointed, he kept doing his job day by day without complaining. Relieved of his duties, however, Charon is intent to spend a good chunk of eternity compensating and indulging for so many hours ferrying souls, not giving a damn about other things than himself. Then for his perceived flaws, Charon is still a honorable man of the old school, and he will never disobey a plea. He also seems to have a thing for heroic deeds and impossible tasks, as he was known to bend the rules a little every time and then. History:An ancient psychopomp, there are many who don't even think that Charon was ever mortal, but a couple of drunken passages alluding to "jerks with iron weapons cutting our bronze swords" seem to be genuine recopilations of an hypothetic human past. He always has carried the duty of escorting new souls to the current lords of the Underworld, at least until recently. Even an incombustible old man like himself yearned for retirement, specially what with their new generations and their ways. So he did. Although he could've reincarnated, waaay too many time spent in the underworld made him still fond of the place, and the demons do have cheap drinks and entertainaments, so why not burn his retirement pension there?. Powers: Ferryman: Charon's quintessential power, is the ability to travel from any body of fluid (either lava or water) to another with no limitation to distance, placement or even the fact that it could be anywhere on Earth, Heaven or Hell, by using a mystical indestructible boat. Of course, nothing is without restraints, however. Charon can only ferry dead souls to Earth for a very brief period of time, and Heaven does not welcome him any longer after he managed to crash his boat through an Archangel's bathtub, exposing her holy nakedness in the process. Strength of the Damned: He has to be that strong to be wading a boat full of souls along lava and whatnot. It's best not to challenge him to an arm wrestling contest, even taking in account his skeleton form. Not So Sacred Weapon: His trusted boatpole. He has fought many times with it, and it is a essential part of the ritual to summon his boat and go anywhere. Other: Retired old men are funny.
