Shaun held his token clenched into his hand, which he occasionally opened to look at. Caora on the other hand hadn't obtained one, nor had he received a gift. Not that he appeared to mind much; still walking along merrily, Fang in hand as usual. Eventually, the group stopped at the stall that had been set up as the makeshift casino, somewhat half-arsed in its design. Behind it stood Nariko, one of the Carnage Sisters. The depressive one, if Shaun remembered correctly. Alexandria had made a slight appearance, too, however she disappeared after the brief arrival. Everyone crowded around the thing as the monitors switched on, and their gracious host of Dr Killgood appeared as was expected. Shaun's eyes lit up as the curtains on-screen lifted to reveal a phone booth. A phone call to anyone, even the police? In all theory, it sounded to be an incredible prize. Caora didn't appear to care. Something told Shaun that, maybe, there weren't many - if any - people Caora trusted or cared for... However, to him, a single phone call seemed... Useless. Monokuma had said it himself. There was no way in hell, absolutely none, that the police would indulge in a story of imprisonment and murder as fantastical as the one that group of Infinites were currently experiencing. And why would they? Chances were they received countless fake and insane calls every day, spouting nonsense of an unrealistic nature. Krista had since arrived at the party, and while Shaun's back was turned, Caora and the violinist had traded gift - much to the joy of the boy. He seemed quite delighted with the new hair ties, and considerably eager to try them out. However, he didn't get the chance to start using them, as the festivity began. All approached, and handed off their tokens to Nariko, who then promptly tossed them onto the wheel and gave it a spin. Speak of the devil and he shall appear, it seemed. Krista, whom Caora had just spoken with, came out as the victor. However Nariko didn't seem to agree. Things suddenly started to become clearer to Shaun as soon as Monokuma appeared from under the stall. They were to kill for the ticket. A ticket that would grant them a phone call to anyone, anywhere, no matter what. He glanced around, taking in the other Infinites, wondering which among them would have such a desperation that they would murder for a simple phone call. A phone call that would likely prove useless, and only serve to heighten any despair the user already felt. Once Monokuma vanished, the newcomer spoke up. He was unknown to the pair, though he had a uniform and official air about him which Shaun recognised as authority. Some kind of civil servant, or officer, or something. The way he applied a sense of reason and strategy to the situation made him think military, but at the same time the aura of authority made him think police. Shaun stood back, letting the others discuss strategy and the like. Neither he nor Caora had any experience in that kind of thing, so instead they stepped out of the crowd, and watched, mostly waiting for someone to approach them with queries or similar.
