More than happy to leave the rest of the situation with the jester to the hands of the equally fuming dragonborn, Dyn remained on the deck near Jill and Eliza. Or, after a mere moment only Jill remained as Eliza shifted away from the storm outside. While he could not be sure whether she had gone to the caboose which he personally would have preferred in a situation like this, she had still retreated to a safer location for the time being. Good. A minion without their abilities would have been nothing but a burden. Now that that was over and done with, Dyn listened to the conversation between the wolf thing and the rest. He did not understand a word of what was stated by the Tabaxi, something that unnerved him greatly. What sort of promises were being made? However, it seemed as if there had been nothing too important as the discussion proceeded to moving their vessel into the world beyond the waterspout. The Beholder assessed the situation, taking a moment to think. Soon after Jill's words, he turned to to the de jure captain of the ship and shared an idea his mind had formed: "What if I were to form a spiral of water from that spout to help the ship up? Shouldn't break it apart like so..." Jill looked to the waterspout, then back to Dyn, then back to the waterspout. "Are you sure you can do it?" she asked with a slight look of worry on her face. Her voice was low so that none would hear her question the potency of the mighty Dyn. "I mean, not that I doubt your magic, but the lives of everyone on this ship depend on it." A grimace spread across the Beholder's alien features as he held back his loathing towards somebody belittling his capabilities. Soon enough he was capable of opening his mouth without straying from the subject at hand as he confidently declared: "Would you doubt a Beholder, an inherently magical being, known for their superiority and intelligence? If I were not able to do so, I would not even bother saying it. I am not one to babble." "As I expected," Jill replied. "Make your preparations, and let me know when you are ready. I hope you won't think poorly of me if I make preparations just in case. Not that I doubt you, but it is possible that the wolf turn on us at the worst moment. You wouldn't want us to be defenseless without our Beholder to assist us, right?" Dyn tilted his floating body back and forth in a gesture that resembled a nod, ceasing his concentration on his earlier spell in the meantime. The tentacles vanished from the side of the ship, making it possible for the Bladesinger to practice one of the more taxing abilities he had learnt during his studies. "No, I do not believe that to be a desirable outcome. I am ready as soon as we get the course set. Turn ship to port, so that we'd narrowly hit the spout on the starboard side. I am ready whenever." With that said, he began to float towards the front of the ship where he would have the best view of his target. The prow of the ship turned back towards the waterspout, the wizard gathering the energy he would need to for the following feat of magical might. The events on the deck behind him, Koan returning as a hood ornament on the cranium of the dragonborn that had carried her inside now carrying her back out and so forth going unnoticed. Probably for the best of everyone, since that would surely have put a damper on the Beholder's focused mood. As soon as the ship entered the range he knew his might would reach, Dyn'yer'zhead bellowed over the howling wind and rain: "Behold, peasants! Quake, the very elements! My command transcends the might of the elemental plane itself! See the water twist before me as reality itself bows to my whim!" Now being done with his starting speech, Dyn stated the magical words that assumed the control he sought while his gem decorated eyepatch shined as his arcane might was driven through it. And lo and behold, nature obeyed. From the side of the waterspout, an upward travelling slide of water as wide as the ship split apart from the pillar of water, carrying the ship upward as faster than it had travelled on the surface of the sea itself. Dyn laughed his horrible laughter as their journey brought them closer and closer to their new destination. "Ahahahahhaaaah! I ascend!" [hider=Mechanics&Rolls] Dyn expends the remaining two (2) of his 4th level slots to cast Control Water, turning the waterspout into a water escalator that carries the ship all the way to the portal.
