I won’t be long.” Miri's voice was followed by the sound of a door opening and gently shutting as the girl left the room. Sebastian shot an appreciative smile at her before she left, calling out a brief thanks. ”Well, I can’t give you a new leg, but rest up, and take your medications, and you’ll be right as rain in a few weeks. And if you need anything, we’ll all be happy to help!” Cassie's cheerful tone brought a genuine smile to his lips, though it was faint and faded a little too quickly. When her hand touched his, he barely suppressed the instinct to rip it away. Instead, all his hand gave was a slight twitch as his eyes locked onto Cassie's touch. "Thank you, Cassie. It really means a lot that you," Sebastian paused and corrected himself, "All of you, are here to help us." The Siren's faux smile slowly slipped away, replaced by a distracted gaze with scared eyes. Werewolves were vengeful creatures. They were powerful and dangerous, but most importantly, they didn't leave anything unfinished. Maybe the goal of the attack had been to create a new pack, but to what end? And if not to create more weres, then why? Even if that was the original goal, Sebastian couldn't help but shake the feeling that he had unfinished business with the wolf. Maybe he was just being paranoid, but he was one of two teens that hadn't been turned, and he was the only one who had fought back. While he couldn't be sure, Sebastian was fairly certain he had dealt a fair amount of damage to the wolf's front leg, maybe even going so far as to break it, though that damage would certainly be healed by now. Would it want to come back to finish the fight? There was just so much that he didn't know- ”Really, Sebastian, is everything okay?” Cassie's voice snapped him back to reality, forcing him to meet her eyes. A light, shaky sigh passed the Siren's lips. He attempted to muster a half-hearted smile, but it died somewhere between his lips and his eyes. Sebastian licked his lips and swallowed before speaking. "Well, aside from getting mauled and then my entire friend group getting turned into creatures that I have spent my entire life fearing and avoiding?" Sebastian bit his tongue and closed his eyes the instant the words left his mouth. He didn't want to seem bitter, even though he was, and he most certainly didn't want Cassie to feel worse. He gave a soft sigh before continuing. "Sorry, that was rude." Sebastian met Cassie's gaze and clenched his jaw. "What I mean is that up until this point in my life, people like me and people like you... We don't work well together. Just like a wolf or a bear will hunt in a stream to catch a fish, over the years, werewolves have hunted Sirens. I spent so long trying to- to hide who I was from all of you that now that everyone knows, I feel... naked. Exposed. Defenseless." The Siren shot a look over at Gage and Syleste to make sure they weren't listening. The brief thought that he was finally able to speak to Syleste about what she was pleased him, however he pushed it aside from the time being. "Do you remember when I first came out?" For the first time that day, a genuine smile came across his face and stayed. "We were playing truth or dare and someone decided to make me kiss someone. I was so nervous about it, because I knew most of the group expected me to pick a girl, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I was so pent up about it I think I nearly gave that kid Thomas a heart attack when I grabbed him. I mean, some people in the group already knew it, but as far as I know, it was only a couple of people. I felt like I was going to implode into a mess of tears and moping, but I was actually pretty confident once I had stopped attacking the poor boy's face. It was on my own terms, with just a little bit of incentive. I made the choice to reveal my secret to you guys." Sebastian paused for another shaky sigh before continuing. "My identity as a Siren was a much bigger secret. It wasn't who I love, but who I actually am. That, and it reveals an entire world of supernaturals. I didn't get the choice last night. Zoe kinda made sure of that one... Just telling everyone on the planet... Not angry about that though." Sebastian gently blew a puff of air out of his nose and turned his eyes up to face Cassie. "It's just kind of weird to have everyone know about something I spent so long hiding. I guess everyone now has the same secret, so I don't really think anyone could hold it against me, but... I still did hide that from all of you."
