The cold was bothersome, frigid and chilling, yet the icy weather was at the bottom of the long list of worries Tanner had accumulated throughout the years of his life. Looking back to Gabriel, the tall cadet barely seen through the harsh snowy wind, Tanner bit his lip and continued to grind his teeth in anxiety. The event that was worrying Tanner had happened months ago, yet it was fresh in his mind as if Gabriel had stumbled on his treasured documents moments ago. Gabriel had sworn to keep silent, but after investigating rumors for such a long time, Tanner knew not everyone could be trusted. It was up to the gentle giant himself if he could prove himself trustworthy to Tanner, but until then, his anxieties would refuse to cease. Regardless of Tanner's worries, he denied them the chance to infect his studies and training. Tanner followed through with his promise to Olivia, the boy helping the cadets' growth in martial arts. Both in the classroom and on the field, Tanner proved his worth to the instructors and the rest of his classmates, although he preferred to leave the leadership role to those capable such as Gabriel and Sano. They were all training to be titan-killers, to be the saviors of humanity, yet Tanner was not to be groomed into a general or any kind of skilled officer. Tanner was to be a warrior, a stalwart guardian capable of cutting a swath through the titans' ranks. The boy's training and results had proven so, aided severely by his rampant desire to see the woman that haunted his dreams. Eventually, both Olivia and Reese had stepped forward, speaking out of concern to their comrades. Their words had snapped Tanner awake from his worry-induced haze, and he quickly shook his head as he came back to reality. Tanner turned to look back at the rest of the group, himself struggling to see through the howling winds. "I don't see anyone that has collapsed yet. Only shivering in this poor weather." Tanner replied back to Olivia, his voice nearly drowned out by the deathly wind. Raising a hand over his eyes, Tanner began to count those who were still following, his eyes finding seven people still in the group. "I think we're good. We started off with seven people, right? You can't see anything in this weather, but I'm sure I didn't count a tree or something!" Tanner exclaimed, raising his voice just a hint louder as he tried to keep the group from the dangerous chance of an avalanche as the cadets were forced to climb the mountain.
[@Solace], [@LordVoldemort], [@FrostedCaramel], [@SheriffLlama], [@Ambra]
