Character Official!

Character Sheet for Grave Lord Mortan, The Flesh Weaver
Name: Title: Flesh Weaver - He is called this due to his penchant to craft horrible abominations and putrid golems of flesh and bone. Grave Lord - A title granted to himself to instill fear in those who here it and show his mastery over the dead. Height: 5'9" Weight: 180 lbs Age: Exact age unknown - probably in the low hundreds Race/Species: Lich - Formerly human Tier/Influence: 4 (National); While Mortan is not a great fighter nor does he have inhuman strength or speed, his magic places him as a potent adversary. If a someone could survive through his undead hordes and golems they would have a chance to kill Mortan, for a time. Group(s): (expecting) Lycholme Cultists Appearance: Personality: Mortan is a scientist of necromantic magic, He is nearly always in his workshop trying to craft better undead creatures, obsessed with making his pets deadlier or indomitable. Alternatively he is in his library researching ancient text to hone his abilities. His lust for power is indeed more of an acedemic one, he desires nothing more than to push his 'necromantic science' to the limit. He is cold and calculating, a far cry from the power mad arch villains who perpetuate cruelty for cruelties sake. Mortan is not above truly abhorrent methods to reach his goals, as he did artificially extend his own 'life' through necromancy. Abilities, Talents, Traits, Powers:

[sup]( 4 )[/sup] Raise Ghoul -- Motan can raise a fresh corpse (within a few days) to do his bidding, they are slow but quite strong and incredibly tough to kill. Mortan can comfortably control Approximately 120 Ghouls at one time before his strength is significantly taxed, These are not limited to human corpses.
[sup]( 3 )[/sup] Ghoul -- (Note: explanation of a Ghoul not a separate power) As the corpse is no longer limited by self-preservation instincts or the need to breathe or eat they are notable adversaries. The Ghouls can only be stopped by damage sufficient cripple it entirely, head wounds are inconvenient when they damage sensory organs and wounds to the body do essentially nothing.
[sup]( 4 ) [/sup] Flesh Golem -- Raised through similar magic as his Ghouls but cobbled together from many corpses into one hulking monstrosity. The Golems are raised through a long and slow ritual that fuels the creature with the magic to be sustained without a summoner or necromancer to command it. Strength and ability will vary based on the Golem construction
[sup]( 4 ) [/sup] Lich Phylactery -- Mortan's life force is contained within his Phylactery granting him Eternal life so long as it is intact. While he can be 'killed' by conventional damage to his body he does not remain dead for long and will return within a few days.
[sup]( 3 )[/sup] Soul Rend -- Mortan can tear the soul of his victims asunder, this mostly manifests as searing agony and crippling weakness that will generally last for a few weeks as their soul heals.
[sup]( 2 )[/sup] Terrify -- Mortan can project vivid hallucinations of death and decay. This is generally sufficient to send soldiers and peasants (teir 1/2) fleeing from the Lich however Elite soldier and Heroes (tier 3/4) can resist the ability
Followers:

[sup]( 3 )[/sup] Vampire Coven -- Mortan commands the loyalty of a small group of vampires (16 vampires), while not his own they where granted as servants to the Lich by an ancient Vampire house. The group is commanded by a senior Vampire (teir 3), who would be a fair opponent to an experienced Paladin or Knight, the other Vampire soldiers are weaker (teir 2), easily being faster and stronger than an average human but a fair opponent for experienced soldiers. Their primary use is to feed themselves normally and give their victims over to Mortan as fresh specimens.
[sup]( 3 )[/sup] Fallen Paladin -- Mortan has four fallen Paladin knights at his disposal, they act as bodyguards and lieutenants to the Lich. They are experienced fighters but lack any kind of magical talents.
[sup]( 3 )[/sup] Necromancer Apprentice -- Over the years Mortan has attracted outcast Necromancers and trained them to be in his service, they are not nearly as powerful as Mortan but assist Mortan in the Golem raising rituals and can command small forces of the dead on their own. Items: (The items, equipment or weapons your character has. What is in their inventory? What do they bring with them? What do they own? Just like an ability or power, explain what it is, what it does and what it looks like. If it is to big to carry, where do they put it? Consider points like these.)

[sup]( 2 )[/sup] Staff of the Grave lord -- A simple staff carried by Mortan, it has no magical powers in itself however it is exquisitely crafted from steel and topped with a grim silver skull.
[sup]( 2 )[/sup] Golem Crafting supplies -- Not inherently magical but has all the supplies neccecary to bind flesh together well enough for his magic to control the whole creature.
[sup]( 2 )[/sup] Grave Armor -- A set of armor, breastplate, Shoulder Guards, and greaves. While also not enchanted in any way the armor is well crafted polished steel, but generally covered by heavy tattered robes.
[sup]( 3 )[/sup] Plague Knife -- A long dagger that is enchanted to infect its victims with a virulent plague. It is not immediately fatal but will generally kill its victim within a few days unless healed by divine magic (theoretically could be healed by adv technology or other powerful healing abilities)
[sup]( 4 )[/sup] Lich Phylactery -- An exquisitely crafted jar, bound in rune etched steel serves as a container for Mortan's life force. If this artifact where ever destroyed Mortan would cease to live and crumble to dust.
History: Mortan's birth name and childhood are lost to history, even Mortan has largely forgotten. As a young adult he was brought to one of the Mages collages of Ecentopia. Being tutored in elemental and divine magic Mortan's abilities grew terribly slowly, in frustration he began exploring other forms of magic including forbidden dark arts. The collage he attended was staunchly opposed to any form of black magic. His dabbling in black magic was found out and he was ultimately cast out and stripped of any rank or station within the local Mages guild. Before he was removed Mortan did manage to steal a tome about the dark arts, unfortunately it was not an in depth book and gave him very little knowledge but his power still grew quickly as the kind of magic came easily to him. It did not take him long to master the abilities in the tome as they where very simple spells that where hardly more than parlor tricks, but still a gate way to more terrible powers. After his mastery of the simple tome he began to experiment with the magic in other ways. It was slow and very often his attempts did not work at all but the strength of his power grew with his experimentation. During this time he was little more than a beggar in one of the larger cities, scrounging what he could to sustain himself and his tireless research. He existed in this state for many years with his activities creating morbid rumors of an undead infiltration of the city. These rumors did make his life more difficult as the city watch was on the hunt for any suspicious black magic users, but he had grown strong enough to raise a corpse from the dead to do his bidding. They where slow and stupid creatures, but terribly useful. When Mortan was beginning to reach middle age he had managed to avoid the city watch for many years, he had also grown in power to control several undead minions. He finally decided to raid the local Mages guild for more potent tomes of the Dark Arts. His raid was under the cover of darkness, in an attempt to make the entry as quiet and non-violent as possible. He did have to slay several of the town watch and an apprentice wizard, but their bodies where not discovered until the next day outside the city walls. He did however get his prize, an ancient tome of powerful necromancy. The tome was owned previously by a powerful Lich who was destroyed hundreds of years ago. Its spell book was preserved to give Mages an understanding of the necromantic arts if ever another Lich should arise. Within the tome where meticulous descriptions of powerful rituals and the method of creating a Phylactery. While there where other forms of magic in the tome Mortan grew obsessed with the idea of creating Golems. He spent years attempting to create powerful Golems, although his first attempts where staggeringly useless. This was not any kind of deterrent for him however and he only grew more obsessed. He refined his technique through hundreds of attempts, slowly perfecting his craft. Before he poured his life force into a phylactery he did manage to create a few Golems of sufficient quality that they well outstripped a regular Ghoul. They where little more than hulking muscle bound abominations, but Mortan was not satisfied with them and resolved to make them greater. But he did not have the time he needed, he was starting to notice his advancing age. He was not a decrepit old man but he began to notice that he was ordering his Ghouls to do more and more of the heavy lifting. so he decided to finally craft a Phylactery, this took some time as the materials needed where quite difficult to obtain and the ritual was immensely complicated. After this he rose again as Mortan the Lich, he spent years growing his sphere of influence and obtaining his titles of Grave Lord, and Flesh weaver. During this time he collected other outcast Necromancers, Fallen Paladins and a group of Vampires. The vampires have not pledged their loyalty to Mortan and still owe their allegiance to one of the ancient vampire houses. They where gifted as servants, and likely spies, to Mortan in exchange for a handful of his powerful Flesh Golems. Recently Mortan has been on the move, hiding from the kingdoms to avoid being hunted, searching for a safe place for him to hunker down and continue his research, and to grow his power.
