Funny - he expected more... reluctance. Xerxes shook the thought from his head. No sense in jinxing himself. His thoughts, thankfully, were swayed as Leo handed over what looked like some sort of amulet, his request being that Xerxes put it up somewhere in the siren's hospital room as means to keep them protected. He tried not to take it as some sort of insult to his own medical training. He knew very little about Werewolves, and even less about Witches and Warlocks and anything else within that branch of the supernatural. But he trusted Zoé, and Zoé seemed to trust these two. He simply had to choke down his pride and respect them doing their job as much as they (well, Leo, anyway) respected him doing his. He gave Leo a curt nod, accepting the necklace, and turned to head back to the hospital room. The nurse he had been... discussing matters with was nowhere to be seen. Though it was high time he headed back to the children anyway. He watched quietly as Miranda passed him by, giving him enough pause to halt in the doorway, hearing the tail end of a conversation between his daughter, and a voice that clearly had to be Sebastian. Out of sight, the older man crossed his arms over his chest and listened as Cassandra took things upon herself to help absolve her friends fears. A gentle smile crossed over his lips, pride welling within his chest for his little girl. Really, he couldn't be any more proud of her. Believing that now would be a better time than any other to return into the room, Xerxes stepped in, subtly hanging up the amulet on the first hook-like thing he could find. He clapped his free hands together, regaining that "friendly doctor" demeanor he was more than known for - any trace of his previous, annoyed mood completely gone. "Alright, you two. How are we doing?" He looked between Syleste and Sebastian. Traces of food were left behind, indicating that Cassandra had done as he had expected and got them fed. His smile only seemed to brighten. "Syleste, I'd like to check your stitches first along with a few other things. Gage... would you mind?"[/color]
