Well. Here's a good amount of my character. I'm still looking for the rest of him, it's in that cupboard somewhere.
“Welcome, Mortal, to the Afterworld. Prove thine worthiness to me, and pass through!” ”Look. Being the god of death isn’t all it’s said to be. Yeah, I can be scary, but that doesn’t mean I’m evil. I just do my job, like everyone else. Appearance: As is so often found with gods, Morten has two forms… one is his true appearance, his godly form. The other, he wears should he walk among the mortals… it matters not whether they be alive or dead. His first form is an ethereal collection of mist that inhabits armour, using it to retain Meanwhile, his human form is that of a young man, at least in shape. But his skin is as grey and as cold as death, and his eyes are far from common. While once upon a time they may have allowed him to watch both realms at once, it is not presently possible. Now they simply serve as something to scare the mortals with… and it looks cool. Name: Morten Domain: Death and Secrets Morten is not just simply controller of the Afterworld… but its gatekeeper. And where better to take secrets, but to the grave?
Judge, Jury, Executioner: Guardian to the gate, it is Morten that decides who comes into the Afterworld… and in those few instances, who may leave, sometimes causing conflict. Those he can tell are pure may pass through. Any less, and he will look over your life. If you fail to pass his test, then your soul will be sundered forever, to always walk adrift, only finding peace when they cease to be. Gatekeeper: Morten can open and close gateways at will anywhere in the world, and can travel between them just as easily. However, if he is too far too long from his post at any one point, there is an exponential increase in the numbers of the Undead. Thus, he is bound to the gateway. Death’s Cold Embrace: If Morten so wishes, he can change the fate of someone’s death… simply by touching them. Often he doesn’t use it, so as to avoid angering the others… but if he decides that the mortal is to die in a different way, then very little can be done to stop him.

Soul-Searching, Soul-Searing: When you come face to face with Morten, as long as you are mortal, your life will be laid bare before him, and he can sift through it at his own discretion. Do not attempt to hide anything from him. Oath of Silence: Morten has learned many things that others do not, should not, or cannot know. And, as the holder of the domain of secrets, he has sworn that any secret known to him will remain as such.
Personality: Morten is not a benevolent god. But nor is he malicious. He tends not to work with the other gods. But nor will he work against them. Like death, he simply is there, unchanging, and unavoidable. It comes to all beings, but it does not go after you. Morten is just… Morten. His relations with some of the other gods can be a little shaky, though. With Aldnari, he doesn’t care for his tendency to cause disasters, thus increasing Morten’s workload. And, in return, he can restrict who the Fire God is allowed to resurrect if they have already passed through. Hrelskíninn, who grants a number of her followers the ability to fight past when they ought to have died, is less of a bother, since they’ll die soon anyway, but that doesn’t mean he likes it. But he will eventually reconcile with them, since he never knows when he will have to welcome them to the Afterworld for the last time. He can be quite grim, but he will talk casually enough if he isn’t at his post. While he takes a neutral stance on most things, as most things will one day come to its end, he may occasionally be persuaded to get involved. After all, while he doesn’t want to cause lasting grudges, sometimes you have to get involved. Other: N/A
