But alas, the null towers are always under siege by immensely massive Barkolopus, centipede shaped entities with bark-like skin and green, fluid eyes which line across it.  Their many limbs skittering across the vast, rolling hills and dunes of the realm seeking ethereal energies for nourishment.  They are ultimately mindless beings, whose sprawling size has become host to whole societies dwelling on their backs.
