“Seriously. Seriously! You have to be kidding me. You know what I cannot believe you keep surprising me. Every sentence that comes out of your mouth seems to be worse than the last. Sure I may have been a little rash with my accusations but can you really blame me for jumping to conclusions, you literally shot me!” Maddie was flabbergasted by Roberts’ stubbornness she wanted to let him leave just let him go die on his own. It actually would make her beyond happy to see him leave and never come back. But the others needed her and they also needed him too. He finally pushed his way past Maddie and began to walk away. Maddie threw her hand up in the air in anguish. “Great! Great, just leave us alone out here. Go on your hero’s quest to take down a company, while we actually go out and save real people. You act like you have the moral high ground, like you know something that we all don’t. You are not better than us! You are killing us, you are just as bad as the people that sent us out here if you leave us. I can tell that you know what is out here and you are refusing to help.” Tears started to flow down Maddie’s cheeks but she wasn’t sad. She cleaned off her face surprised by the sudden emotions that were pouring out of her. She truly was scared, not only for her life but everyone else’s. Her yells turned into a plea. “I know you wouldn’t care if I died, but you cannot say the same about those two in that car. They are innocent, untrained and scared. There is a child in that car up there and the only reason he is still alive is that you saved him. I am sorry for throwing accusations at you, but if you would honestly let that child pay for our mistakes then you are truly the monster I believe you to be. So prove me wrong, I’m begging you to prove me wrong. Do not let that child die.”
