Noelle E. "Benji" Aether

There was just.. a lot going on. For someone who wielded animal instincts, one would expect Noelle to be able to move like her wild counterpart. Breathe like it, behave like it. Swift and agile and g r a c e f u l. But such was not the case now. It seemed that today anything that could go wrong would go wrong. Starting with the death of Clyde. Among the chaos engulfing the mess hall Noelle simply stayed there like a goddamned sitting duck, stuck in the abyss of grief still dragging her in and swallowing her whole. It was a sensory overload. First came was blood. After Eisley was skewered the crimson thing's metallic stench seemed to fill her nostrils as if the entire room were coated in it. Which nearly made sense considering the remains of Eisley were now splattered all over her. Then came the men. Noelle could hear their boots thudding against the hard floor as an undetermined number of security approached the sealed threshold from which Eisley had stepped through mere minutes before. She vaguely recalled Naeemah saying something about there being ten; Noelle wasn't about to argue against that. Lastly, there was the commotion. Perhaps that was what finally snapped her out of it. The sirens weren't enough to faze her but the urgency in Naeemah's tone, combined with the unnatural sound of metal against metal as the mechanics of the doors finally began to pry themselves open again seemed to do the trick. Noelle moved from her position on the floor and skedaddled to keep up with the others as they made their way up the ceiling through the air vents, using a chair stacked atop the table in order to reach. It reeked of dank air and dust and her nose twitched as she resisted the urge to sneeze. She wasn't the only one, and the cramped space was a tight enough fit as is. Once up in the air ventilation system Noelle moved to wedge herself farther in and away from the opening that left them exposed to whatever lay below. "Guys, move" she hissed, more out of concern than actual malice. The sound of gunfire rang out and echoed loudly within the metal confines and she flinched. Was this the plan all along? Send in Eisley as bait and once he was out of the way, take out the errors in the project? She could understand why she and the other Hybrids were to be erased from existence but she briefly wondered what Eisley had done to warrant such a verdict. Ignoring the others, Noelle put her nose to use and squeezed past the others. She didn't know where she was going but as long she she wasn't just staying here then anywhere was fine.
