The blood then seemed to evaporate and vanish, the glowing with it, along with the X symbol. October tilted her head slightly, having been partially joking about the need for a blood sacrifice. She tapped her finger against her lip as she thought. The X had to have some meaning to it and October took a stick similar to Carolina, cutting open the tip of her own finger and allowing the blood to drop on the box. She managed to tolerate the pain and she tilted her head, watching as the same event happened. The X appeared in common between the pair of them, and October almost regretted keeping that police officer from catching up to them. It would have been a nice point of comparison, to see if only the blood of those with gifts produced the X on the box. But regardless, the box remained shut, with nothing still allowing them to open it and grab the ring. "This truly is remarkable," October mused. "X marks the spot, I suppose...Perhaps this is some sort of pirate treasure?" October suggested, chuckling a bit at the thought. Pirates so rarely ever did mark their treasure with an X. It was a bit of a fad, a story trope that normals quite enjoyed. Of course, October's head darted skywards, hearing the unique noise of a quinjet. "...Curiouser and curiouser," October muttered, before glancing over towards Carolina as the jet descended in a clearing just fifty feet away from the girls.
