Zack was kidnapped when he was only 7. He was tortured horribly. Like his mother this abuse caused him to create a second personality to survive. Zack does not remember that year at all but Griffin, his other personality does. Xavier to have found Yeti with Cerebro, and sent Northstar and Aurora to rescue him. Once he was rescued Zack and Griffin struggled to find a balance that worked for them. Eventually they were able to compromise and now share their mind.
