[i]Potentially a very dangerous and often violent, shapeshifting deity.

Considered to be a bringer both of good and bad fortune, Dedanaann could either help or hinder tribal communities he comes into contact with. The God of trickery has been said to be a shape changer which can take the appearance of various animals also able to take a human form, which includes various animal features, most commonly the horned head of a goat, ram or stag.

Dedanann may be regarded as either menacing or beneficent. It would appear the way he treats the chosen individuals he shows a form of himself to, is very much formed by his initial feelings on them. Some stories describe Dedanann a 'wicked minded bad thing with chains draping off him that would scare, or seek to do harm to unwary travellers.' On the other hand, there are legends that tell of him helping struggling farmers or even curing blighted crops.
