Perhaps all the police milling about his life for the last good while had really been there to arrest him for the crime of having wanted to do more than go fishing for a lifetime. Maybe he had just imagined the fact that his dad had turned out to be a murderer in Vietnam. Heck, he wasn't even around anymore, maybe he never even existed, and the real murderer was him. All these thoughts seemed more plausible than the reality; that he hadn't done anything wrong and yet was still being carted in this pissant truck to the worst school in the country. A short glance at his fellow inmates made it seem all the more absurd. None of these people looked like they belonged here, but then again, for all Danh knew they were killers on par with his dad or something. Worse yet, they might be unfortunate souls who had such pathetic quirks they couldn't help but go to this loser academy. Sure, some of them looked suspicious, like the goat kid and the smoking dude, but who looked more suspicious than the guy with two sharp implements connected to steel chains wrapped around his arms? Unless he was right about going to prison, all of these people might just have astronomical bad luck like himself. Eventually, their ride came to a stop and they were all ordered out to greet their warm and friendly new boss. It was clear from the cigar, the piercing glare, and his general 'I don't give a shit about you' demeanour that this guy was going to be the bestest, friendliest teacher there ever was. Their introductional method seemed to reinforce his prison theory; here they all were, lined up like a chain gang reciting their prisoner identification number for the warden. The funniest part was that the goat boy seemed to be all too happy to be here. Maybe this guy was actually his dad? He certainly had the horns for it.
