The cactus wins. Cacti are more resilient, since they have evolved to survive in deserts. They can conserve more water, and their spines, which are actually modified leaves, work effectively in fending off predators. 

But let's just say that the cactus won because more and more people are clamoring for strawberry smoothies. Consider me to be one of them.
