Hmmm..... based on my reading of the current powers, the best counter would be tear-gas. Most powers require either concentration, use of the eyes, or both. The distraction would basically disable Jared and many of the others, bypass Joshua's power, and incapacitate most of the party. Not much that people can do about it, either.
