Ozwell E. Spencer, Dr. Edward Ashford, and Dr. James Marcus, three men who are ultimately now dead, most of them the victims of their own creation, but still remembered not out of fondness but fear and hatred. December 4th 1967, that was the day that these three men discovered the Virus that began centuries of Hellish creation, the Progenitor virus. The Progenitor Virus or the P-Virus produces rapid and uncontrollable mutation in a host's genetic code, however the mutations were not coordinated enough to produce effective B.O.W.s. In hosts with a genetic structure less complex than humans, mutations are less pronounced, and usually restricted to increases in size and aggression. September 19th, 1978 was the birth day of the Tyrant Virus, most of us just simply called it the T-Virus, this variant of virus was the results through synthesis of the Progenitor virus and leech DNA. The Tyrant virus allegedly operates similarly to most other viruses, but also has the abilities to animate dead tissue, to substantially mutate its host, and to infect nearly any tissue in any type of host. It animated dead tissue by killing and replacing any mitochondria in infected cells, and then combining with these cells to produce enough energy for motor and lower brain functions. By doing this, most of the body's systems, such as the circulatory or respiratory systems, were made redundant. However, this process has the drawback of severe necrosis in the host, and produces the distinctive rotted appearance of most B.O.W.s. The mutations are produced when the virus incorporates itself into the host's genetic code and considerably alters it. Creatures with genetic structures different than humans generally show less severe mutations, and usually only increase in size. As a side effect of the virus' consumption of its host, specifically its digestion of the host's frontal lobes, all hosts suffer from greatly increased aggression. The virus also damages the hypothalamus, which results in a flood of neurotransmitters, enzymes, and hormones which induce a psychopathic rage and hunger in the host. Since the creation of the T-Virus many different strains and advancements have been made over the course of many years, the same men trying to perfect the perfect weapon. Such as the NE-T Virus, T-Cameron, T-JCCC203 and then the next biggest virus to arrive what the G-Virus. The G-Virus was made and brought into existence by a man named William Birkin a long time employee of Umbrella and brilliant in his twisted ways. Unlike the T-Virus the mutations caused by this strain occurred much faster and not only that but continued as long as the host was active. It was specifically transmitted through implantation or ingestion of it rather then physical contact. However it could only be accepted through full blood relatives and if successful the embryo begins to pupate and assimilate the hosts body turning them into a mutant of immense strength. However if the host was incompatible the embryo will grow and bust from the hosts chest in a matter of minutes. Then that embryo will quickly mutate into an adult form and search for another host. This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the history of terrorism that Umbrella has created, an even now that Umbrella is gone the virus is still tested and improved and sold on the black market to terrorists organizations. Albert Wesker, Excella Gionne, Derek Simmons, Sergei Vladimir, Jack Krauser, all terrorists only a few of the names that have caused so much terror in the world. Uroboros, Las Plagas, Nemesis Project, T-A.L.O.S project. For years we have fought terrorism for years true hero’s have sacrificed sweat and blood to defend this world, Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Rebecca Chambers, everyone a pinnacle of hope in this fight and now long since passed from this life. We fight for their memory and their courage in this field of horror, we continue to battle this evil that threatens the world time and time again with no end in site. We are the B.S.A.A (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) and as long as there is Bio-terrorism in this world then there will always be the B.S.A.A to fight for the freedom and security that every human in this world deserves.[/I][/b][/center] [hider=B.S.A.A]The Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, or BSAA for short, is an organization founded by the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies at the request of the U.S. Government. Officially backed by the United Nations, their main purpose is to combat, prevent, and exterminate bio-terrorism. One of their duties is to track down B.O.W.s and other viral weaponry developed by Umbrella that is being illegally sold on the black market to various bio-terrorists. The BSAA have advanced technology and a number of skilled personnel in their ranks. There are branches stationed around the world, including America, Europe, and Africa. The BSAA headquarters are located in the United Kingdom. The BSAA was founded by Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Clive R. O'Brian and a further eight others shortly after the fall of Umbrella, to combat the increasing numbers of B.O.W.s being sold on the black market as a result of its collapse. As a non-governmental organization ("NGO") Their funding came from the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies, a group of highly-influential medical corporations, who wanted to distance themselves from Umbrella by condemning bioterrorism in a much more obvious way. Due to their success and the high demand for anti-B.O.W. assignments, the organization would soon be expanded greatly in numbers, with headquarters stationed around the world. The standard uniform of the BSAA consists of light gray combat fatigues, gloves and combat boots, and a green bullet proof vest. However this is only standard to SOU's, SOA's usually wear different outfits based on individual preference, and conditions of a specific mission. The Common side arm weapons used by the BSAA are the SIG 556 (modified to fire on full auto) and the Beretta 92FS, though some have specific weapons individual to themselves. The common assault weapons, The Assault Rifle for Special Tactics this Assault Rifle features a fast firing speed and a strong firepower. Although excelling in speed, it lacks any unique attachments and an alternate firing mode. This weapon is quite devastating in both short and medium range, however at long range it is recommended to fire it in short bursts. It is especially useful to mow down crowds of enemies due to it's firing speed but tends to use up ammo rather quickly. However again specific individuals can and will use specialized weapons that fit their needs. [/hider] [hider=Umbrella][I]Obedience Breeds Discipline, Discipline Breeds Unity, Unity Breeds Power, Power is Life.[/I] The Umbrella Corporation was a giant conglomerate which operated ruthlessly as a major international player in a number of markets; including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment along with top-secret operations utilizing genetic engineering and biological weaponry. The company also had a more benevolent public face for the ignorant masses, producing cosmetics, consumer products and foods. A subsidiary of Umbrella operated as a malevolent paramilitary organization. This division of the corporation maintained a highly trained security force capable of rescue, reconnaissance, and paramilitary operations. They used a variety of vehicles, including HUMVEEs. Complementing this security force was an air wing, which maintained a fleet of AV-8B Harrier jump jets, UH-60 Blackhawks, C-130 Hercules water-landing capable cargo planes, CH-53 Sea Stallion cargo helicopters for transporting prisoners and Hughes MH-6 'Little Bird' attack helicopters. The corporation utilized these resources in order to secure and protect its assets, as well as its high profile employees. Umbrella was founded in 1968 by Lord Oswell E. Spencer; Sir Edward Ashford and Dr. James Marcus after the discovery of the Progenitor virus the previous year. Another starting member, though not considered a co-founder, was Marcus' student Brandon Bailey, who was with Marcus and Spencer when they first discovered the Stairway of the Sun flower. Shortly after Umbrella's founding, Ashford died from exposure to the virus, and Brandon was effectively-exiled to the Umbrella Africa Laboratory, where he would send virus samples to Dr. Marcus' newly built research center. In 1969, Edward's son Alexander began the construction of the Antarctic Base, attached to which was a research centre where he began development of his "Code: Veronica" project. This was his research into the gene that controls intelligence. Two years later, Alfred and Alexia would be born from his research. Seeking new information on Progenitor, Marcus had several of his students infected with the virus. They were however, unable to survive its effects and died, their corpses dumped in the Water Treatment facility. Marcus injected leeches with Progenitor in 1978, and bore witness to the creation of a new strain which he named the "Tyrant virus". Later this year, the Training facility would be closed and Marcus' two prized students: Albert Wesker and William Birkin, would be moved to the nearby Arklay Laboratory. Umbrella fell from grace of September 24, 1998, when the t-Virus had turned a large amount of the population into Zombies. The morning after, the U.S. Government had the city limits bordered off by the military, whilst they began an investigation into the matter. Umbrella itself was divided on the issue of Raccoon City. Its virologists within the limits spent their time researching a cure, whilst weapons researchers had experimental B.O.W.'s sent in to receive combat data on their effectiveness at killing civilians. The Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS) was sent in to evacuate civilians, whilst "Monitors" installed within the four Delta Platoon's gathered the combat data, sacrificing their comrades to save their own lives, where they would receive a very generous sum for the data. Umbrella's fortunes failed to improve in the time shortly after the Raccoon City incident. The US government changed its opinions of the company - while it had initially desired to obtain Umbrella's secrets for its own military projects, it was now in full condemnation over Umbrella's failure to contain the situation (the US involvement in Raccoon City was carefully omitted). A "suspension of business decree" was imposed on Umbrella USA, Inc., preventing any further presence in the US stock market. Under threat of financial ruin, Umbrella filed an appeal to overturn the decision The final blow to the company would come in February of 2003, when a private anti-biohazard paramilitary force was sent to the Caucasus in the Russian Federation in response to rumors of a new B.O.W. being developed by Umbrella. Leading the attack were Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, who eventually reached the Russian facility's underground chamber, where they fought Umbrella's final weapon, T-A.L.O.S., after it was dispatched by Sergei Vladimir. At the same time, Wesker managed to infiltrate the facility a few hours before Chris and Jill's arrival, and had one final encounter with Sergei, who then mutated into a new, virus-infected monster. While Chris and Jill destroyed T-A.L.O.S., Wesker managed to extract all data from Umbrella's Red Queen supercomputer, while also erasing any of the memory left within the computer itself, in order to use it against Spencer, thus bringing Umbrella to its knees. Umbrella was finally found guilty soon after the Umbrella Russia incident, after an anonymous tip-off by Albert Wesker, using the data he had extracted. The U.S. Government suspended Umbrella's market trading license pending further investigation into their business practices. While this investigation must have already provided Umbrella with severe financial problems, a worldwide manhunt for surviving founder Oswell E. Spencer sealed the organization's fate.[/hider] [hider=Please Read]Hello and welcome to Resident Evil: X-Virus Origin. Now lets get right down to it this hider will be to specifically describe information in which you will need to join this roleplay. Please make sure you read this so you are informed and also know some events that will be on a need to know basis in the role play. To start out with to kill two birds with one stone, no one is allowed to be on the side of evil, I have considered this possibility however I know some people tend to go too far at times and I don't want this to happen so at the start were all good. The second thing is we will be playing all original characters, as much as it pained me to do it all the well known characters we all have come to love and maybe hate have all passed on. I will possibly allow some of you to maybe play off spring of these said characters but I require you to ask me first. Moving on its important to know that your character will be part of a B.S.A.A Squad that will be investigating a new strain of virus which is only known at the beginning as X-Virus, this roleplay will have limited spots which the number will later be revealed so in that sense it is first come first serve. This next piece of information is vital so please remember it, I have decided to make this role play because I am a huge Resident Evil fan, and I have contemplated this for a long time. With that said anyone who has an interest in RE is welcome to join, however I want everyone to give it their 100 percent best so we can make this a kick ass RE chapter. Swearing and blood shed these things are part of what makes Resident Evil so great, I don't care about swearing or graphically depicted posts as long as you do not take it too far as in swearing every other word or describing in such detail someone wants to puke. My other concern is relationships and given children do roleplay on this site I ask you to fade to black if you actually find yourself having any kind of sexual favors beyond kissing or mild groping within the roleplay feel free to go to PM if you want to do it. I want good character development so I am putting a cap, each post should contain at least 3 paragraph's that have good detail in them. 6. As for grammar I am not perfected in it or do I believe you should be either, I am not strict on grammar like others, however I want your posts to be easy to read. Try to be consistent in posting but also try to let everyone else get in a post before your next post. (Phew glad these rules are done ;))[/hider] [hider=specialties](Time for some weapon sets) Heavy Gunner: One who chooses this specialty is capable of using heavy guns such as M-46, Gatling, set up turrets, and so on and so on, they also have a good strength ratio. These are the guys who get in your face and lay down heavy suppressing fire when in intense situations. Usually a bit slower then the other classes they are also the bruisers of any BSAA team. Sniper: Snipers are specialists with long range weapons that deal absolute damage and can hit targets from very far off. They specialize in scouting particularly and will provide cover fire from high up positions when in the field. Snipers are usually blessed with high agility and stamina and are very good with agility and climbing so they can get into high places to shoot from. Explosive expert: These guys are the ones who open doors that can't be kicked down, they take out bridges with enemies on them, they are adamant in most all forms of explosive and can used weapons such as rocket launchers and grenade launchers with ease. These guys commonly are used when something needs to be destroyed within a mission and cant be done by normal means or firearms. Commonly using side arms and sub machine guns they are deadly efficient in their skill set. Medic: Medics are trained heavily in the tending of battle wounds and so forth, they come packed with medical supplies and are known as being the difference between life and death for BSAA teams within the field. They are adequate with small weapons such as sub machine guns and are often quick and flexible. Assault Specialist: These guys are the ones who use assault rifles with high damage with medium to short range, they are the ones who come in behind the heavy gunners with precise and deadly shots to take down enemies. With an equal set of agility strength and endurance they are a force to be trifled with. Engineer: The engineer is a mechanical expert from guns all the way up to enemy vehicles, with the ability to efficiently fix and get any vehicle operational they are the difference between life and death situations when you need a fast escape. Usually equipped with semi auto rifles they are quick, witted and have good endurance and a large intelligence when it calls for it.[/hider] [hider=Bio Format](Finally time for some fun!
