Skills: Layali has a keen eye for targets and is quite good at shooting from a distance with both her bow and her sling. She is good at sneaking about, slipping into nooks and crannies others may have a hard time getting into. Biography: It was approximately five years after the War for the Dawn when Layali was born. Her mother was a freed Meereenese slave and loyal to Queen Daenerys. Her father was a sellsword, a Westerosi from King's Landing. He had fled the capital and sailed to Essos many years ago when the Targaeryans were slaughtered. Being loyal to them, he found no reason to remain in Westeros. Once the War for the Dawn was over, he decided to settle down. Though he wasn't in love, he did find someone he liked enough to marry. Soon enough they had children, two boys and a girl they named Layali. Her childhood was quite normal, to say the least. Being the daughter of a freed slave and an ex-mercenary, there wasn't really anyone who looked up to her or down on her. Her father was a paid bodyguard to a rich merchant; he was paid enough that her mother didn't have to work, staying home to take care of her three children. As such, Layali never wanted for anything. She grew up helping her mother whilst watching her brothers train with their father when he was home. While she didn't mind the more passive and mundane training she received, she felt as if her brothers were having more fun with life than she was. It didn't please her mother much when Layali mentioned this to her, but her father was wholly amused. He didn't want a warrior daughter, but he didn't want her coddled into a soft woman who couldn't defend herself. To appease both wife and daughter, he taught her first to use a sling, and then she graduated to a bow. It was clear she had a good eye for target shooting, enough that soon she was the one bringing home game to eat. Whilst growing up, her mother often told her stories of Danaerys' conquering of Slaver's Bay and changing it into the Bay of Dragons. Hearing of such grand deeds and adventures caused her to idolize the Queen. She didn't want to be a ruler over subjects, but she did want to do something worthy of being remembered for. She also wanted to see the Queen in person. Whilst her parents understood her admiration, they were not at all thrilled at the idea of their only daughter heading off to the other side of the world all on her own. Layali felt she was old enough and wise enough, however, so one night she packed her few belongings and stole out of the house. It wasn't long before she boarded a ship, paying her initial fee as well as promising to do menial tasks on the ship like cleaning. The journey went rather smoothly, and despite the work and lewd attention from some of the men, Layali had a grant time, her only regret being she left without her parents' permission. However, just as her destination was nearing, they reached the Stepstones, where the ship was attacked by pirates. This was the first time she had seen such combat, and to say she was unprepared was an understatement. While the captain and the sailors were culled, Layali was kept and brought back to shore for entertainment. There were dark times for the young Meereenese, but she kept her wits about her, planning her escape from the pirate's den she had been dumped in. She no longer had her bow, but she managed to make herself a sling as well as steal a knife from the kitchen. However, it seemed certain events had delayed her escape... Notes: She likes to sing and has a good voice for it.
