Alex had said fuck that noise. While there was only one good reason to ride in a cramped bus for an exceedingly long time, the feisty girl had her own agenda to attend to, and unfortunately, that conflicted with the aforementioned incentive. A slight yawn escaped the brunette as she shuffled forward in the line to board her plane. The coffee she had just finished and thrown away should have been kicking in relatively soon, leaving her to take on the adventures the day had planned for her introduction to a new summer camp. As she leaned upward to place her carry on in the compartment above her seat, the olive green cropped tank she was wearing over a peach, floral patterned bralette rose up her midriff even higher. Most people wouldn't have found it wise to be wearing such exposing clothing when they knew they would be spending at least three hours in heavily air conditioned areas with minimal movement availability. Feeling the cool air lightly chill her skin, Alex swiftly took a thin blanket out of her bag before closing it up again and taking her seat. The frayed, white shorts she was currently wearing barely covered the minimum, much less kept her warm. Placing headphones into both ears, the girl hoped that a talker wouldn't be seated next to her and that she would be allowed to watch the sunrise in peace. Although there was a recommended game plan to help her arrive to camp, Alex had forewent it and arrived at the ACV airport instead. Sure not every airport had the luxury of having selected airline carriers that could provide the trip to a peculiar hub, but that was just another benefit from living in Seattle. Less than an hour after she had gotten off the plane, Alex had arrived at the Aces High Campgrounds. Stepping out of the nicely air conditioned cab she had taken, the girl immediately felt the rise of temperature hit her. Yep; definitely summer camp. After paying the driver and tipping generously, the dark haired camper heard the crunching of gravel behind her as the car drove off. It was official now: ten weeks of camp without any interaction outside of these surroundings. Sharp chirping could be heard overhead, sunlight was peeking through the thick forest. There was a brief inhale of fresh air with the faintest undertones of moss, and then the girl was trekking her way around the grounds in search for the front office, a Nike duffel bag on each shoulder. She had arrived just slightly earlier than the time when the bus would and introductions would take place. According to the information she had been given, in these cases the camp wanted the kids to check in at the front office and receive their assigned cabin. In addition, the girl needed to pick up a package. With an instinctual sense of direction and knack for exploring, it didn't take Alex long to find her desired location. (Okay, so maybe the various signs spread throughout helped a little.) Despite the short trip over, green eyes took in all that was offered on display. Aces High was significantly vaster than her previous summer camp, and a sense of excitement sparked within the involved camper from the amount of possible activities she could engage in. Shortly after seeking her destination, a lightly flushed brunette entered into the front office. Rather than drop her bags for a momentary break, Alex hitched the straps higher up her shoulders to reposition them. She didn't intend to stay here long. A bright head of red hair caught her attention quite quickly and with no one else in the cabin, the girl had no choice but to address the older female. The sound of faint thumping came from pale knuckles knocking against the wood front door. "Hi. I'm a camper here. I arrived early and was wondering if you could help me." When the door opened, the woman that warmly greeted the camper was none other than Kylie Warren, one of the hotter counselors at this camp, who was engaged to be married to Troy Blake when she returned home after these thrilling ten weeks of outdoor fun. Exciting. It’s been a long wait ever since he had given her a promise ring when they were juniors in highschool, but the wait would end next month and she could finally say he was her’s officially. Daddy always told her there was no need to rush, but whatever made her happy, he would support. Troy was a man who knew what he wanted and how he liked things, so before he invested money in the wedding of Kylie’s dreams, he wanted to focus on making sure when they did marry everything was ready for their family life together. His gym was completely renovated and thriving with business, they had a house waiting for them in the suburbs, and soon enough, they would fill that house with happiness and love. And children! Her wild, red curls were tied up in a bun, her fly aways were kept down by a blue bandana, and she wore even less clothes than the camper standing in front of her. To be exact, a black bikini top and denim shorts. One that kept her perky breasts snug and covered, the other wrapped around her apple bottom tightly. There was a brief moment of silence while the counselor examined the brunette with a childish grin on. She came off as someone that could only be read once she opened her mouth, but aside from that? She simply looked like a carefree girl with a constant, mischievous smile on. Perhaps also a tad bit sexually misleading. It truly depends on how much you’re examining her and how she holds herself. But if there was one thing that held true with this girl... There was no shame. AT ALL. “You’re sooooo gorgeous! Like, your skin looks soft… soft… like a baby’s butt! I want to touch it.” Her voice was smooth, as if you were drinking fine, red wine, or a nice glass of Bourbon. Definitely tantalizing, regardless if she meant to come off that way or not. Not one to think before she talked, she continued onward, “I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Kylie. I’ll be one of the many counselors here. If there’s a girl that can help you, that’s me!” Closing the door behind her, she confidently sauntered to her future friend, “Did you forget your bathing suit? I got you if you did. I know girls of all shapes and sizes. Plus, they gotta’ keep their men happy if you know what I mean.” Nudge. Nudge. Kylie wasn’t the brightest but she was… adorable. Dorky. Full of... life, to say the least. Alex's first impression of the counselor was that she was a bit much for the mood she was currently in. The arrival simply wanted to get to her cabin to drop off her possessions and look for someone. At that moment, she remembered that she didn't have a way to contact the person she was intending to meet up with and would most likely have to wander around until she encountered him by chance. There wasn't enough time to get to her cabin and make it to introductions without prior knowledge of the area. If only she knew where he was going to be staying. Green eyes sized up the redhead standing across from her once more since she had taken in Kylie's outfit. Rather than criticize and judge how revealing it was or assume the implications it said about the other girl like people would expect from her, Alex merely appreciated that it was a cute ensemble. Not as cute as hers of course, but the brunette already made sure of that the moment she entered the office. What could she say? Old habits died hard. Seeing Kylie as an potential option to get the information she wanted, the camper decided to forgo her desire to be direct and entertain the hyperactive girl briefly. Despite having come to this decision just a moment ago, Alex still couldn't fully suppress the slight grimace that she expressed at the redhead's 'compliment.' Rather than respond verbally, a forced chuckle and a subtle inching away would have to manage to suffice. However, it didn't seem like it mattered with the way Kylie was rapidly talking. The other girl probably wouldn't have been able to get a word in. Once the counselor brought the conversation to the topics of swimwear and boys, Alex couldn't help quirking a fine brow in amusement. She supposed she understood that sentiment. Finally having a chance to reply, Alex said, "Thanks for the offer, but I'm good. I'll keep what you said in mind though. It's nice to meet you, I'm Alex. I was hoping if you could help me find my cabin and a package. I sent it earlier so I wouldn't have to bring it with me today. It should have arrived by now." “Packages would be in Ash’s office, I think! Also... I’m pretty sure Ash has your assignment too… she isn’t in her office, though. I think she went by the drop off area to meet your fellow campers. Have no fear! My bestie taught me how to pick locks, so come, come. We must go into the off-limits to get you what you need.” Turning on her heel, Kylie pranced back inside the main building and then like a motherfuckin’ spy, she hummed the pink panther theme song and tiptoed into the area where the big boss would reside in for the entire summer, along with the nurse, “Welcome to the main lobby.” she carefully whispered. Well if there was a counselor that the camper would rely on for leniency if she got into trouble, Kylie was her bet. (The girl didn't plan on it but a sense deep down in her found it to be inevitable.) That didn't stop the zealous redhead from being regarded as a weirdo in Alex's mind, unfortunately. Knitting her brows together, the younger rolled her eyes in response to the other's antics before crossing the short distance across the room. Without the whole sneaking act. Yeah, Alex wasn't particularly fun with certain people. "Thanks," the brunette merely replied with, voice impassive as if she didn't care to carry on the conversation any further. However, this didn't seem to deter Kylie. “To your left is the infirmary. I don’t know where Nurse Ivy went, but if she sees us going into Ash’s things, she’ll have a conniption and to our right is one, Ash’s office, two, a kitchenette, and three, stairs. Stairs to the Great Beyond. Or, well, probably where their beds are. Fun fact, this is the only two story building here!” By the end of her spiel, she realized her voice had rose. Instinctively, she covered her mouth, her eyes widening. Scanning her surroundings, the lobby was silent as ever, as if no one was there but them. "Neat," was another clipped response provided by Alex. And although her tone wasn’t the most pleasant and hinted that she was not in the mood for Kylie’s games, the redhead did not seem to be fazed in the slightest or was simply way too into her own world to notice that her first impression wasn’t the most ideal. Without verbally requesting entrance, the girl simply nodded her head toward the door with a raised eyebrow. Honestly, it was more of a courtesy than anything. After a beat, Alex stepped into the main lobby and turned to her right where Kylie had informed her where she would be able to pick up her parcel. Opening the door to the office belonging to this 'Ash,' after Kylie had opened it with a pick, Alex sought out the mail and care packages while taking note of anything that stood out. Although the warning of getting into trouble if the nurse caught her should have deterred her, the spoiled girl had merely disregarded that information. Why should she be reprimanded for? She was getting her own package for fucks sake. The whole roundabout with verification was beyond idiotic. Sure she was a nosy person, but she didn't care enough to go through other people's mail. Spotting a pile of boxes of different shapes and sizes in a corner, Alex inferred that was where she should start looking and determinedly made her way over, dropping her bags on the floor unceremoniously as she got close. The brunette began to sort through the various packages in search for her own. Although not in the gentlest manner, dainty hands sliding boxes away from her was a lot nicer than what she would have used to done in toppling them over by pushing them out of her way if she found that the name attached was not hers. It didn't take too long for Alex to find her mail, and as soon as she found it, she pulled it closer to her. Inspecting to make sure it hadn't been opened either accidentally or by someone else, the camper fluidly stood in one swift motion. She took a moment to walk over to the head's desk and rifle through it for something to cut through the packaging tape. Pale fingers quickly grabbed a letter opener and the girl made her way back to her box. Without hesitation, Alex pierced the thin barrier with her impromptu weapon and dragged the opener down the whole side of tape, effectively splitting it open. Tossing the tool to her side with little care, the brunette opened up her package. Immediately, dust and powder lifted from the box and settled on the girl's fingers, allowing her to feel the fine, coarse grains. Turning her head away for a moment to let the grime disperse, Alex checked the contents inside and was satisfied with what she saw. Reaching in, the delicate hands rummaged around lightly, only rubbing the skin rawer. A heavy exhale left the girl as her thoughts trailed to the purpose of the package. She could remember the phone call that occurred a few weeks ago and how she had to upset the one person she wanted to the least. A particular blond was noticeably excited about the prospect of seeing her again when they had called to see when her flight was coming in. They were probably even more thrilled at the idea of sitting next to her for five hours on a cramped bus. She was too; she really was. However, she had to disappoint the other and inform them that she wouldn't be riding with them and that she would see them at camp instead. They had taken it well enough, always being more understanding than she believed she was allowed. All for this stupid package. This is for him. Despite the weak attempt to console herself, Alex still felt tremendously guilty for leaving her friend on the bus all by themselves. She would have to apologize when she saw them. You seem to do that a lot. Shaking her head lightly at herself, the girl reminded herself that it was only another month. And then everything would be fine. With her usual resolve back, Alex quickly closed the box again, picked up her two bags, and got up to start figuring out cabins. Luckily for her, Kylie was already on top of it. Rummaging through a file cabinet in Aisling’s closet, she focused in on finding what her new friend wanted. The assignment list. It was in this moment that Kylie realized how… old fashioned Connor’s cousin was. Ash probably had the documents saved on her laptop but jeez, hard copies was what old people did, right? The bottom two cabinets were important documents of the campers in alphabetical order, like contact information and medical forms, the top two were other documents like Ash’s mail, bills, and personal papers for the camp. In time, Kylie pulled out THE LIST. “I got it! Okay, let me see… the only other Alex I see here is my cousin… which is odd, since Alex is kinda a common name, I think. Looks like you’ll be a Clubs at… OH THIS IS SO EXCITING.” Kylie urgently pushed the cabinet closed and rushed to the other girl’s side, “You’ll be with my boyfriend and my bestie since like babyhood! I’m so happy for you.” Without waiting and not giving much warning, Kylie was already rushing out the door with the hard copy list, having forgotten about the counselors meeting at the front entrance area and assuming she could potentially see her love at his cabin! Surprise him with her beautiful self. As she paced herself, she curiously asked, “Do you have any friends here? I have a ton! We’re all counselors actually.” As the energetic redhead dashed around within a few seconds, Alex merely watched her as she ran from one end of the cabin to the other. The only response the camper gave was leaning away when Kylie rushed at her and a hard roll of her eyes as the front door swung open. If she weren't carrying a box in her hands, she would had her arms crossed in irritation. Not being bothered with the name comment, the female Alex concentrated on the information she was given on where she would be staying. Well, half information. Although Kylie was ecstatic about it, the mean girl didn't care for the counselor's boyfriend or best friend. She hoped that they weren't too similar to the annoyance she was enduring with now. Seeing no other option than to continue following the girl around, Alex merely walked out of the offices, not even bothering to close the doors to conceal the fact they had been in places they shouldn't. Once she caught up to Kylie, she caught the question directed at her and figured now was the most opportune time to get the information she wanted the most. "That's awesome," the younger prefaced her response with. "I have a friend here too. Do you think you can find out where he's staying? His name's Casper." If Kylie were paying close enough attention, she would have picked up on Alex's slight hesitation when giving her the identity. It felt weird to refer to her closest confidant by his proper name in such a casual manner. Thankfully, that unnerving feeling of formality passed quickly at the thought of seeing the aforementioned boy soon. Although it didn't show outwardly, the girl's excitement and anticipation had her heart beating just a tad quicker. The airhead did not notice the slight hesitation. Instead, she jokingly squealed, “Casper the friendly ghost?!” After letting out a giggle, she shook her head, “Kidding. Yeah, I see him. And you’re in luck! He’s the same suit as you, boo. Sooooooooooooooooooo…. onward we go!” And with that, the oddity of a counselor led the way to the wood area, where she would drop Alex off at her cabins. Oh, and Kylie was doing fairly well on first impressions. Well, as well as those went with the ever critical Alex. Rolling her eyes in distaste at how the other girl referenced to her friend, the camper had to hold her tongue back. Just because she knew that he hated being called that didn't mean everyone else did. Still, the brunette held the fact that she had never addressed the boy by that idiotic nickname like an accomplishment. Exhaling heavily at the pet name Kylie had decided for her, Alex shifted so the items she were carrying didn't strain on her as much. She only had to endure the nuisance for just a short while more. As they treaded back into the dense area of trees, the green-eyed girl pondered on whether her and her friend would be staying in the same cabin. They always had in the past and that was from pure fate. Casting a glance at the blue bracelet pressed against her right wrist, Alex figured it didn't matter anyways. She would make it happen. Because she always got whatever she wanted.
