Watching as the mass of pitch before him swell open, Mazono examined how the strange manifestation reacted to his Railguns through his enhanced perception of the world around him. The slow methodical movements of the strange creature attempted the deception of pain in its writhing motion. Mitsu didn’t buy it, in his experience when a creature is wounded – it either lashes out violently or it runs away; since it didn’t do either, he wasn’t so convinced his attack had done any damage whatsoever. The most important noteworthy thing of this creature was the first shot – the expected shot – was met with an opening; the creature didn’t want to get hit! More and more the mystery unraveled before him. His vision and thoughts were interrupted however as a flowing cloud of green erupted where an icicle had been struck mere seconds prior by his thunder dome’s autonomous attack. The green gas was growing exponentially before his eyes, threatening to overtake not only his sight but his form too. Iron sand granules that had begun floating through the air before him had begun to clump together and would meet this cloud in their absentminded rise from the ground – only to find destruction as the jade vapor seemed to break down his Iron Sand at an exponential rate! An eyebrow quirked upward as this strange cloud seemed far more devious than he’d anticipated from a mere shadow. There wasn’t much additional time to continue his observations however, as the amount of kinetic build up that he’d been storing in his legs since the start of this strange interaction finally could take no more. The well of kinetic force broke at the moment the cloud appeared - as a swift release of the force exiting his left heel caused the young man in white to slide his lithe frame in a half-hover motion towards his right, sliding about 10 feet away from his original position. The scaffolding enticing him with added protection as a means to gain cover. The dark mass of black surrounding him seemed to shift as well with his movement, remaining within the 10 Yard radius of his defensive field at all times. Iron sand continued to rise around him, the clumps of dirt becoming larger and larger – far more discernible – as the red sparks of energy continued to roll around the gathered material. The tint of his nearly translucent field also seemed to shift as his suit – from a distance – would appear a soft orange when regarding his white suit. The room itself growing warmer and warmer as the wave of his defensive field shifted to something more intense. Additionally, the autonomous striking of foreign materials persisted – though now the flashes of light radiated a brilliant vermilion. Each strike acting less like lightning and more like a directed burst of intense heat microwaving the contaminate within the radius of the arc-flash styled explosions. The situation had shifted very quickly! The large mass of black before him had somehow employed a rather clever tactic; launching something from his blind spot, the creature had hoped to catch him off-guard, unaware of his potent defense. Yet, an attack within an attack was unique – a clear defining point before him. This thing was trying to kill him, and not in a way akin to a predator; at least none he’d ever encountered in his travels. Its actions were deliberate; fueled by intent of some kind. A curse maybe? Made manifest by his presence in this once sacred tomb of kings? Surely it gave him pause as to why Jhieten would want him to fight something like this. Questions for later he thought as his right leg braced into the slide and ceased the motion. The sound of leather twisting once again filling his ears as the redistributed force was stored in the limb for later release. Instantly - enhanced by a quick burst of his stage one thunder god release – Mazono’s arm rose up. The large silver object adorning the forearm and wrist of the man in white was brought to bear as round barrel at the end – hidden beneath a series of encasement's that stabilized the weapons sheer recoil – aimed once more at the black mass. So far, his conventional approach wasn’t quite up to snuff and maybe that was why this place had been chosen for the testing of this experimental piece of equipment. An inaudible hum of energy pulsed beneath the surface of the long white jacket; Mazono’s arm having constantly been transferring a large charge of electrical current to power the might weapon. No more hesitation, the Zeus Cannon released its enhanced – much heavier – VERTBRINIUM round. The recoil and force, of the weapon would’ve caused any normal individual to fly backwards into the very rear of the pyramid; yet his right arm remained extended, only bending a little at the elbow as once again that strange sound occurred. Left leg also bracing, it too mirrored its sister appendage (the sound once more occurring). The 20mm styled round ripped towards the mass from a new angle. It would seem as if the young man still hadn’t discerned the shadow’s function and was willing to waste yet another attack on futility. Yet this time, there was a difference. The projectile, travelling 35% faster than his previous attack was bolstered by an additional measure of defense in the form of its own self-generated variation of the same defensive field currently protecting Mitsu. Extending outward four feet in a spherical fashion, the projectile’s protective semi-translucent shell – emulating the blueish white hue of his normal field – would make contact with the mass first, acting as a first line of defense to ensure the weapon’s penetration and effectiveness in the field. The same autonomous shocking aspect – though at a much lower scale – of the field surrounding the man in white occurred within the same four-foot range of the round’s shell when in contact with foreign objects. A pure blend of his technology and unique genetic With a shell impact equal to that of a Mk. 45 naval gun, force would distribute through the object when introduced to a solid of any kind. Excited to see the type of reaction this mist would have to his improved shot, the operative of Vertex allowed his smile to spread wider; sparks flowing steadily beneath his iris still. This was indeed an exciting moment! Regardless of what he’d learn from this bizarre monstrosity, he’d at least witness the power of his new toy! Like a kid at Christmas, Mazono was filled with glee. ooc: *Note; force released was equal to 90,000 PSI.
