[@Lionhearted] You don't need to be up to date on the DC universe to play. If anything, a quick trip to the Injustice wiki will fill you in a little, even quick youtube videos will work if you like. If you're creating an original character then it's not super important and nothing Google won't solve, it will only be difficult if you list your characters parents as Batgirl and Beast Boy without knowing who those characters are.
