Duncan was more than a little embarrassed about his ‘charity’ work. He didn’t consider it charity. Duncan broke into a big grin. “Your choice. But Mom has Mom radar. Hiding wouldn’t help much. You might have noticed she has already enlisted the aid of everyone here. Sorry about all that. You think you have it bad. She’s starting to talk about blind dates. Besides, I am enjoying myself right now. “But … you said you are on a forced hiatus from work for a couple weeks, right? Well, I don’t know if my people could spare me that long - not all at once. But you ever do much camping and fishing? I know a place up in the Jemez Mountains. And I know where there are some hot springs there that are off the beaten trail, but not far from where I used to go camping. Or my parents had a cabin up there. Or … I have a little yacht in Florida.. We could fly out and do deep sea fishing. I could use a good excuse to take some time off. I don’t even remember the last time I did - other than family holidays. Mom would never let me hear the end of it. “I have plenty of camping gear. I have a solar tent, self set up. It was modified from a version designed for astronauts on Mars. Theirs has an airlock. And I have scuba and snorkelling gear on the yacht, plus jet skis and amphibious ATV’s. Can’t have that stuff in the Jemez Mountains.”
