I think most Hobbit's know one another to some extent, so Adelard would be happy to help anyone going on a journey like this. He'd probably want the chance to explore a bit - and of course, make sure his fellow Hobbit is safe, as he'd likely know whoever had gone in the first place to go missing. Considering what they went through together, I would imagine the lines of Pippin, Sam and Merry would remain close and good friends, so Adelard and Cassi could have spent a good bit of time with one another's family?
