Alric had never been past the gate before, it wasn't allowed unless you had official business and trying to get his daughter back had not been considered official business by anyone other than himself. The courtyard was full of sculpted hedges, Alric was glad to see his taxes (not that he'd paid them, hence his daughter being taken) were being well spent. The entrance to the manor is paved with white and black marble tiles. Double wooden doors were the only entrance, at least around the front. The windows were made of plate glass and would be difficult to get through.
