Jess took a quick look through the fridge and cupboards before deciding on a can of leek and potato soup. It didn't really matter what she ate, as long as she wasn't eating alone.

She shouldn't be feeling like this, she thought as she searched for a saucepan and used it to heat up the soup. She shouldn't be relying on someone else. What had being cut off from society for so long done to her? There was no point in continuing to beat herself up over it, though. She'd just have to fix the issues that had come up, and reclaim as much of her identity as possible.
