Meowka's eyes bored into the back of her new mistress' back, but she had difficulty gathering up her angry thoughts for whatever reason as the other woman spoke.  So it simply came out as mild irritation than really forming into an angry statement of any sort.  As the archwizard moved her hair out of the way however the cat thought about how she'd go about petting this woman.

The cat suddenly realized she wasn't exactly sure.  Maybe the same way Ronat petted her?  How did she start again ...

... behind the ears!  Of course!  Katherine would feel Meowka's fingers begin to rub and scratch her head as she began to pet her mistress.  She wasn't exactly sure how this was supposed to work, but the other woman would probably be able to tell that her familiar was being genuine as she did this and was filled with a sort of strange curiosity about what she was doing.

Soon enough she voiced exactly what this curiosity was about.  [color=blue]"Why don't humans purr when you pet them?"[/color]  It seemed like as if the very idea was strange to the cat.  She ALWAYS purred when someone else petted her.  Wasn't it just ... what you did?  It was unnatural not to.

If Katherine didn't stop her from petting the head however, she'd feel the kitten's paws move down to her neck where she'd receive scratches as the cat continued her work.  It'd be rather obvious though she was giving her the pets that she likely received as a kitten rather than the massage she had been expected.
