The year is 20XX. You are a regular high school student living in Tokyo, Japan. Your life is nothing spectacular for the most part. You go to school, hang out with friends, indulge in hobbies, and get wrapped up in the occasional mischief. However, this monotony is soon destroyed by a popular trend that’s taken Japan by storm. The Digital Demon app was created by an unknown developer and distributed freely amongst all smartphone users. The game is praised for its realistic visuals, varied list of monsters to raise and fight with others, and mass appeal among all ages. Though it did garner some controversy for its use of religious figures as Ultra Rare demons, such as Shiva and Satan, it has been a smash hit in Japan. This innocuous hobby, however, may be the key to surviving the upcoming week inside of Tokyo. Unbeknownst to anyone, Tokyo will soon be subject to a week long shutdown for unknown reason. Not a single person will be able to leave the Yamanote Line—that is, the circular train track that is by far the most popular method of traveling through Tokyo. All electricity is cut off, there is no form of outside communication, and worst of all, no way to get back home for most people due the closing of all train stations. The official reason for this lockdown is that it was caused to save the people from the effects of a chemical spill happening just outside—an explanation that is quickly scrutinized by the masses. There are rumors floating about that there is a far more sinister reason behind the shutdown. Numerous gruesome murder cases have emerged in the past few days with no culprit or method to be found, leading many to suspect that the deaths are the work of some monster. The claw marks and entire missing chunks from the bodies of the victims have only given more credence to these rumors, though the police, of course, vehemently deny these allegations. Despite this, the rumors are still running their course, some even claiming to have seen the perpetrators of these crimes must be demons of some sort similar to the variety found in the Digital Demon app. Regardless, at the present moment, you are a student who will be trapped in the line after meeting up with three friends near the Shibuya train station. For some reason, right before news of the lockdown hits, all four of you hear a voice saying the exact same thing: “Let us see which among you is worthy of being named Kalki.” -- And that's basically my rough idea for the RP. Note that although this a fandom RP for the Shin Megami Tensei series, you won't need any prior knowledge from any of the game series to join as I will be explaining everything within the RP itself. While this RP will be taking a lot of inspiration from the Devil Survivor games, I wouldn't worry too much since there's no real background information in those games that you need to know for the sake of this RP. Assuming at least four people are interested, I'll make the RP proper and explain a lot of the fun mechanics that I'll be incorporating into it.
