New exciting opportunity coming up. Talk soon. Dr. X Emilia was intrigued, but the vagueness of the message wasn't enough to warrant a response from her and she would simply go talk to Dr. Xavier the next morning. Instead of drafting a quick reply, she gently tossed her laptop to the side and leaned back on the couch, contemplating whether she should go out for some dinner with a colleague from work. Just then, her phone rang. "Hey Jenny." "Emilia, hi. Listen, we're having a little get together in just over a half hour. Bruce and I were wondering whether you wanted to come over and enjoy some food and drinks. Nothing fancy, just an intimate gathering." "Yeah, sure. I'll get ready and be on my way. Is that okay?" "Of course. See you soon!" "Okay, 'til then." Emilia hung up the phone as she sat up to get off the couch. What are you doing? Nathaniel's voice went off in her head, making Emilia stop dead in her tracks. He usually didn't bother her unless she found herself in a highly-stressful situation. But that wasn't the case here as she was just going to a friend's house. Nothing, simply meeting a few people, she replied. I see. Well, how about you stay in for the evening instead? You barely know those people and they're all probably halfway drunk out of their minds by now. No. You're being ridiculous, now leave me alone. Emilia then stormed off to her bedroom, deciding to ignore whatever else Nate said to her. It wasn't the first time the guy bothered her with unnecessary requests or suggestions, and unfortunately, it wouldn't be the last. Nate, stop— Without warning, Emilia had to fight him to prevent him from taking over. The struggle lasted a few moments, but in the end Emilia became trapped, enslaved in her body as Nate forced her to lose any and all physical control which rightfully belonged to her. From that moment on, she only had the option to witness whatever occurred around her. Nathaniel James, get the hell out— No, I don't think so. And since you're being such an inconsiderate person right now, I believe I have to enforce a stricter curfew. Good night, Emilia. Those last few words were the last thing Emilia remembered before she blacked out, any and all recollection beyond that point nothing but a distant dream.
