Thinslayer's Plots and Story Ideas
Hi! Nice to meet you. I'm Thinslayer, but most people call me Thin. I live in the Southwestern United States, where parked cars are hot enough to bake cookies on and a century's worth of dust gathers on all your stuff in about a week. Currently, my level of brain development is in the "doughnut hole" - after it has finished physiological development and before it starts reverting back to infancy, which means that I now have to blame my stupidity on coffee levels and the intellectual capacity of surrounding objects instead of on my age. I guess that means I'm supposed to have my life together now. And I kinda do, at the moment. I have a job with regular hours, and nothing unexpected happens much in my life, so if I don't reply to your post during my 4-5 hours of free time at the day's end, I'm probably watching anime, playing Heroes of the Storm or League of Legends, or endlessly reloading RolePlayerGuild pages for new notifications. Don't lie, you do it too. Anyway, if you're here for the romance, you've come to the right place! Got [s]a few plots[/s] just one plot in mind right now. We'll start with...
You'll never forget the day she showed up at your door begging for a place to stay. At the time, you were just a college student, single, jobless, and living with your parents. She was an alien refugee, foreign to your world and its ways. There was no way you could refuse her. Little did either of you realize how much your lives would change, or how much you needed one another. You needed someone who would stick by you through thick and thin, a friend who had no problem playing co-op Call of Duty with you one minute and discussing the meaning of life the next minute. She needed someone to give her life purpose, a man to whom she could devote herself fully without fear of betrayal. What began as a simple act of charity turned into lifelong bond for two young people who needed it most. __________ As you can guess, this will be a slice-of-life story. The year is 2017. Your character (we'll call him M) is almost 21 years old and in his second year of college. It's a local college, so he lives with his parents to save money. He's an only child, but his aunt, uncle, and cousins live close by, so his childhood wasn't spent without playmates. His parents have strict behavioral standards, so inviting an unknown girl into his home will make for some interesting drama. His college courses are tough, and his grades have been suffering, but the stress has been mitigated in part by colorful relationships with his fellow students. The alien girl (we'll call her F), by contrast, previously lived in a society where magic and technology freely mingled. Things like cars and tools were unnecessary because most tasks could be performed with a simple thought. While there is some cultural overlap between F's world and M's such that M doesn't really need to teach F much about human nature, she still has a lot to learn before she can comfortably fit into M's life.
