Charlotte Carrolle Lutwidge

Lutwidge Manor - Library The only thing she could do as he explained the reasons behind his hypothesis was nod. The boy had a sharp mind and apparently an ample amount of curiosity. What he'd said made sense so far, at least up until he offered that they form a team. Charlotte simply sat their, surprised beyond any she expected yet she refused to show it. He was offering her to form a team with him - not just in terms of business, but as hero. 'Hero' - she hadn't seriously considered that path for herself in a long time. She still wanted it, deep down, but was acutely aware that until she was finished with Blackheart she would never be able to walk that road without looking back all the time, and that was not the kind of hero she wished to show the world. It wasn't about ego; heroes shouldn't look back, they have to be facing ever forward because if they don't, then what would those in need feel when their life is in their hands? Perhaps that was just an arbitrary standard, but it was her arbitrary standard. Still, her, a hero . . . The girl exhaled deeply. Truthfully, she'd like to have a little more time to consider this, but Aida, no matter how hard she tried to suppress it, was all for her accepting his offer. The girl shot a dirty look at her maid behind Techster - why now, of all times, did she have to be so annoyingly transparent; she wasn't fooled for even a moment. If Aida wanted to, she could completely conceal her thoughts from her unless Charlotte was directly probing into them, which meant that for whatever reason she wanted Charlotte to hear them. She was about to tell Techster to give her time, and that she would answer at a later date, when Chesire's voice interrupted her. "Missy, I bring urgent news." He was still invisible. Of course, though she couldn't see him, she was aware of where he was - right next to Techster's little doohickey that detected life - cheeky cat. "There's been an attack at the docks; those horrid thugs known as the Glowing Green Rock Gang. Turned the place into a battlefield with the police, they did." Charlotte's eyes widened by half a centimeter. The Kryptonites where fighting the police near the docks. She pursed her lips for a moment before nodding. Perhaps this may serve as an opportunity. Eyes front and slightly angry, she said, "Techster, how would you feel about having an early debut?" she asked, arms clapsed in front of her.

[@Old Amsterdam]
