Devors was sweating bullets as he maneuvered carefully around the battlefield, completely ignorant to Elise's previous orders. His brief gratification at narrowly avoiding a life-or-death shot was immediately replaced by a sense of dread as he heard the screams of the commander coming through the communications, his face twisting into an uncharacteristically serious and worried shape. Devors slowly and reluctantly turned his head to his camera feed as Ranius turned around, seeing Prometheus split in two and soaring across space. "ELISE!" Devors yelled over the communications, frantic and desperate unlike how he usual acted. It was his fault she ended up in that state, but damnit he told her to take a step back! What was she doing following him around for?! Now he couldn't even feel good about that MIST bastard blowing up as he'd gotten his squad member hurt while doing so. Even worse, with the direction the shot came from, there's no way Ranius can speed over and tackle Prometheus' upper half to slow it down and save her! Devors slammed his fist down on his controls in frustration, sending a cute little leaf-skirted figurine on his dashboard tumbling down onto the floor. "Son of a-! Someone, get to Elise! Make sure she's safe! And kid, if you want to bust down those turrets, I'll bust open the doors for you! I can't function inside, so I'll take care of Elise once you're all in!" It was unlike Devors to start dishing out serious orders like these, but he had to chin up now that he caused this entire tragedy in the first place. The man circled around the middle, biding his time for when the turrets would be disabled so he could dash over and drop his entire arsenal of EMP bombs on those damn barriers, as he's not going to let the mission fail at this junction.
"Atty, calm do- GYAH!" The feedback from Serah's plugsuit made the impact from Caretaker feel like she'd just been hit by a wrecking ball, the bendings of Atty's frail armor feeling like each of her bones being broken. She was soon slammed into and pinned against a wall. That wasn't the worst part, though. The worst part was the bone-shattering sensation she felt in her right arm, the arm that got smashed by the impact of the blast. It felt as if it twisted and contorted to unreasonable degrees, compressed and stabbed into by a million knives. The bones inside felt ready to burst out in a crimson explosion of gore, only held back because it was only her nerves that got assaulted. The pain was sharp and sudden, but replaced immediately by a burning sensation before becoming completely numb. Serah stared blankly in front of her for a few more seconds of consciousness, seeing Jason's message only briefly before her sight went dark, her tears finally stopping as she didn't have the strength to cry any more. Atty had been trashing violently underneath Caretaker as this was all going on. Unfortunately, because of the weight of the machine pinning it and the loss of an arm, it was rendered rather helpless. It now regarded Caretaker as an extreme threat, however, and the plasma on its blade started to become unstable and violent. All it could do was taking care of the immediate threat, so the framewerk pulled their blade arm across the wall, the intense heat radiating from its blade slightly melting the metal that made up its armor. Right before it could stab, however, the frame suddenly stopped moving. The plasma wasn't held in place anymore and fell to the floor next to Atty as the sword arm lowered itself, hanging lazily next to the huge robot.
