By no means humorless, as she is understanding that the troops need to vent every now and then, she would rather everyone took things with the gravitas they deserve. That being said she is perhaps a little too excited by the fact that she can shoot lightning from her hand. She hides her inexperience with war well, a stoic expression and firm words acting as a facade of serenity that keeps her from succumbing to fear. She is liable to taking actions because they are brave rather than sensible for similar reasons. Her lack of military focused training somewhat compound this issue. She is a firm believer in the communist ideology. The capitalist states of the world have failed, if, or rather when, the union pushes back the Axis powers, they will not stop at Berlin, nor Rome, nor Madrid and not even at Tokyo. They will keep going till the whole world is red. The device is powered by an electric charge generator that the user wears on their back. It functions by spinning a large magnetic disk on their back, gradually building up electrical current that then flows to 6 exit points located on the glove. This charge can fry small groups of soldiers with arcs of lightning, bust electronic equipment with ease and multiple blasts can cook a vehicle. With physical contact the generator can continuously pump energy into something, making it an effective cqc weapon. Constant discharge can be done in order to frighten and lightly wound the enemy in an area, letting it operate like a short ranged machine gun . It has a number of disadvantages however It has relatively short range of at maximum 100 M, with accuracy decreasing with distance The device has almost an art to aiming it, the positioning and arrangement of the 6 discharge points can massively alter what the lightning hits. The discharge is often attracted to large metal objects like tank barriers instead of the intended target. Slow charge time, taking roughly 5 seconds to rev up enough charge to be useful at range and takes 20 to reach maximum capacity, at which point the shock must be released lest it overload the capacitors and potentially kill the user. It is a really bad idea to have any friendlies in the arch of fire as it is incredibly difficult to selectively target the bolts. She can’t use her left hand for anything while the device is charging as a result of minor imperfections causing electricity to leap from one discharge point to the other. The generator is powered by gasoline which makes it a rather effective weapon to use behind enemy lines, as it can be resupplied by draining the fuel tanks of enemy or civilian vehicles.
Background Born in the newly minted capital city of the soviet union, she was spared the draft first by her gender and then by her father's position as a Political Commissar. From a young age she was deeply submerged in the Ideology and rhetoric of Communism by her mother she eagerly followed in her father's footsteps, registering as a communist as soon as she was able and attending the various political institutions necessary to take a roll like her father's. Take that roll she did, getting assigned along the Moscow front so that she would be close to her father. She was supposed to be fairly far from the front lines she would often make excuses to visit the actual front to check on the troops and ensure their continued service through discipline, rousing words and listening to any reasonable difficulties they were offering that she could solve by speeding up the bureaucratic process. It was about 2 months into her posting on the front that she saw combat for the first and so far last time. She had been up near the front lines talking to the troops when a surprise raid hit their position. In the report she was said to have rallied the troops with her communist spirit and was critical to the seeing of of the fascist scum, but in actuality it was a bloody and brutal affair, as war always is. Despite her inexperience in the actualities of war, she did not falter, that at least she could be proud of. She was less proud of the fact that one of the stormtroopers broke her arm with the butt of his rifle before a soldier gutted her attacker with his bayonet. Her father, horrified as to how close she had come to death managed to convince someone higher up to transfer his wounded daughter far away from the front lines to a lonely research facility, where she was supposed ensure the loyalty and moral of the scientists. Really she just got in the way, chatted with the base guards and slowly waited for her arm to heal. It was there that she first got to see the Soviet research into Tesla weaponry. From massive defensive turrets to specialized tanks and ship guns, the facility looked for new ways to use electricity to drive back the Nazis. It was fascinating. Beautiful even. She was one of the people who was at the initial testing of the Tesla gauntlet she would end up wearing. The actual test subject ended up panicking and frying himself. The test and program was going to be deemed a failure until stomped into the test chamber, saying something about the man doing it all wrong, donning the test weapon and promptly frying the targets. It was a few weeks later when she was ordered to join the unit, for moral and ideological purity reasons, and was reunited with a less ram shackled version of the Tesla gauntlet Experience firearms training ongoing but infrequent non combat roll on the Moscow front 2 months Enemy raid on Moscow defensive position 1 hour Family Kalinin Stepanovna - Father [low level Political Commissioner on the moscow front] Johana Stepanovna - mother[refugee in Krasnoyarsk]
Theme Song
