That's entirely accurate! There are LGBT people in the world, though specially in Orewyn and Galinas they're really looked down upon. It has most to do with the fact that their religion focuses on a husband and wife. The Mark is supposed to reflect this relationship, too. A lot of the prejudice against same-sex relationships in this world is due to both the Mother and Father's opposite-sex marriage, and the fact that two Destined are always opposite sex. But as [@Sisyphus] said, the biggest reason we went for heterosexual pairings is because we figured it would've been a headache to pair every one evenly, and it might've come to narrowing down who you could've ended with. This way, the mistery is spread evenly.
