Though to be quite frank, I think he's more qualified to be king than Stannis is, even if he's not the rightful heir to it since he's the youngest brother. In any case, Renly was kind to Brienne when no one was, so of course she's going to love him (not romantically), and I don't blame her for hating Stannis for killing him. And honestly, I never liked Stannis. He was too self-entitled, adulterous, and had little regard for the price of Melisandre's magic until the very end. I say he deserved it, despite how cool of a character he actually was. I don't think he's any less vile than Renly. Besides, he needed to die. The throne was never meant to be his.
