Double posting because I have to. Here's my character. You are obviously welcome to do your own critique of her, if you wish to do so. I won't move her till she's been approved by at least one other player.
Name: Helena Østergaard Age: Twenty-six years old (26) Sex, Gender and Sexuality: Female ♀, straight/heterosexual. Occupation: Theater actress and costume designer. Brief History: Helana was born as the first child of a carpenter and a nurse in Denmark. She was an only child for no more than 16 months, when her mother gave birth to twin boys. She had a problem-free childhood. She did well in school, made friends easily and was even on the gymnastics team, where she did some competitions. All in all, she remembers her childhood as a good time with annoying little brothers. As a gymnast, Helena took home several blue ribbons and gold medals. By the time she finished school, she was an elite junior gymnast and only quit because it would no longer be free. During her early teen years, she made a friend while playing online games. He was American, which was interesting to her. They chatted every day, eventually moving on to Skyping, when that came out and when she was 19, finally, her friend came to visit Denmark. They had the time of their lives and made a pact that they'd visit each other each year, taking turns. True to their deal, Helena visited America for the first time the next year. After school*, she went to the gymnasium, because that was what you did. While there, she chose Drama as her arts course and ended up loving it so much that she applied for an after school job at the local theater. She did not get a job, but she tried again the next year and got it. She started out as an assistant, making coffee and fetching things for the actors. Within a few months, she was running lines with the actors and started helping out with the costumes and when she finished school, she was hired as a full time member of the theater. She had her debut on stage four months later and it was the best day of her life. When she was 22, her father got diagnosed with liver cancer. Helena skipped her trip to America that year. Despite surgery and radiation treatment, her father died the next year. Abilities/Skills:

Sewing, knitting and such
Helena has been making her own clothing as well as costumes for herself and her colleagues for their stage performances in the theater for years and can sew both in hand and by machine, knit, crochet, tie knots and so on.

Her parents' daughter
Helena was taught a lot of important skills by her father before he passed away, such as how to work with her hands. She often helped him with his woodwork and as such has some minor skills when it comes to building things. Her mother, likewise, taught her much, including how to properly dress wounds, perform CPR and treat normal illness the fastest.

Appearance:

Standing 5'7” and weighting just below 190 pounds, Helena is a bit more than chubby. Most of her fat is on her breast and butt, but she does have a layer of fat on her stomach and thighs, too. Her facial features are nothing outstanding in either direction; she would never be a model, but she is not ugly, either. Her jaw is a bit too wide, her cheeks are a bit too round and her nose is a bit too stubby. Her eyes are just about the only thing on her face she finds just perfect as they are and she adores the baby blue shade they have. Her hair is shoulder length, fuzzy and damaged and dyed crimson. She usually keeps it in a ponytail so it does not get in her face. Current Clothing: A powder blue sun dress with flower print over a matching, baby blue set of lingerie consisting of a lacy thong and a padded, lacy bra, along with brown, small-heel gladiator sandals and a baby blue ribbon in her hair. She is also wearing three rings; one ring shaped like a marigold, one ring with three stones, two blue and one pink and one ring with a single, clear stone and a necklace with a small, silver crucifix. Current Possessions: A frilly, tan purse containing:

Her wallet, with her credit card, drivers license, social security card, some membership cards for various stores, some coupons, an old theater ticket and about 50 Danish Crowns and 2 dollars in coins.
A make-up pouch with her mascara, eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, powder, a bright red lipstick, a small kit of five different shades of eyeshadow and a small fold out mirror where the other half is a hairbrush.
A sewing kit with needles, thread of various colors, some patches and a pair of small scissors.
Her cell phone in a leather flip cover along with a pink headset and charger.
Her keys, including her house key, car key, the key to her mailbox, the key to her locker at the theater and a key chain shaped like the Pokémon Charmander.
A box of tea bags, a juice box and a snickers.
5 period pads and 5 tampons.
Reason for being on the ship: Helena had been visiting a long-time friend in America and was now heading to France to take the train the rest of the way home to Denmark. She could have taken a plane, but she has an intense fear of heights. Other: *In Denmark, we only go to school for 10 years (Age 6-16) with the possibility of an 11th year. Everything after that is “higher education” where you are considered an adult.
Five Facts about The Mad Hatter:

I suffer from Lepidopterophobia.
I'll save you the trip on Google and tell you that it's the irrational fear of butterflies. It's so bad that even pictures of them make me all jittery.

I have two kids.
Both of my kids are named after Gods of the old Norse Mythology (Freja and Balder) and my pets are all named after cartoon characters. Freja is from October 2014 and Balder was born four months premature last December in our own little version of Nightmare Before Christmas.

I used to be a Punker.
With a blue mohawk and second-hand clothes made into rebellious rags. I even had some piercings, but I took 'em all out when I had kids and now I look like your plain old everyday mommy.[s]Except that I still wear my studded belts and/or bracelets sometimes.[/s]

I love books.
Almost every piece of literature I can get my hands on, I'll read. The last few years it's mostly been amateur novels on FictionPress, but some of those are really good, too. Fun Fact about my name is that the Hatter in Alice in Wonderland was never actually referred to as “The Mad Hatter”, but rather it was said that one needed to be “Mad as a Hatter”, to which he added, “Which, luckily, I am”. He could have meant either a Hatter or Mad, though. Also, Hatters actually were a bit coo-coo back when the book was written, because of the quicksilver.

I LOOOOOOVE Disney movies.
Like, seriously. You have no idea how great a love for the classic Disney movies I have. I wanted to be a Disney Princess when I was little. I even wrote fairytales akin to those of the Disney worlds. As a result of this love, I also played Kingdom Hearts (though that was partly due to my love of Final Fantasy, too) and absolutely loved that, too. I have a Keyblade on my wall (Oathkeeper, if you're curious).
