[b]Name[/b]: Hotaru Fujioka

[b]Age[/b]: 16

[b]Personality[/b]:  Hotaru is a quiet, soft-hearted person around people she’s unfamiliar with.  She hides it well, but it’s not hard to make her cry, and bullies have learnt to take advantage of her apparent spinelessness.  The reality of the situation is that she believes that if she fought back she’d be the one who would get in trouble.  When at school, she mostly tries to keep her head down and out of attention.  She has a few close friends she feels she can be open with and is much more relaxed and cheerful when it’s just the small group.  
She often feels sort of aimless in life, not being really excelling at anything academically, or being particularly interested in any given subject.

[b]Appearance[/b]:  Hotaru is 175 cm (5’9”) tall, but slouches a bit to hide it, and has an average build.  She has a pointy face with sharp, narrow eyes and high cheekbones, and she tends to get mistaken for glaring at people.  Her black hair is naturally curly, but the schools she’s attended have made her straighten it, so it has some heat damage.  Despite the damage, she keeps her hair long enough that it almost reaches her chest, but doesn’t otherwise do much with it.  Because of her height, she wasn’t able to get a girl’s uniform that fit and instead wears a male one, although it doesn’t seem to fit quite right either.  Her casual clothes tend to be very plain.

[b]Backstory[/b]:  Hotaru’s mother abandoned the family when Hotaru was only a couple years old, so she has no memories of the woman.  In fact, Hotaru sometimes jokes that she has more memories of the housekeeper her father hired to take care of her when she was a child than her actual mother.  Once she started going to school, the housekeeper wasn’t needed and is no longer working for the family.  She’s not really sure what she’s should feel about her mother, not knowing anything about her.  Hotaru’s father hardly talks about the woman he had married, only that his parents didn’t approve, resulting in a falling out between them.  They’re part of a branch of an old family, but Hotaru and her father have next to nothing to do with the extended Fujioka clan.  

Even with just her father around, Hotaru has a good home life, and she trusts him enough that she’ll go to him with problems.  Although, she’s become more reluctant to tell him about the bullying she’s received, since all it does is worry him, and his complaints to the school haven’t gotten any results. 

She’s part of the school choir and enjoys singing and is pretty decent at it, but doesn’t make an effort to stand out.
Hotaru started playing the Demon Summoning Program on a whim when she saw it advertised on the app store as something new.  Although she normally stuck to rhythm games, she got the hang of the rpg gameplay.  She mostly just tried to collect demons she thought were cute and was vaguely disappointed that there weren’t any frog-like demons.
