Born in the Eastern Air Temple high in the clouds, Chinmayi has always been as thoroughly isolated from the world as one could be. She was raised exclusively among other females, and has never really ever been below the clouds. She mastered airbending at fourteen, making her one of the youngest to do so. She got her flying bison, Nam-kha, when she was six years old. 

Being pretty isolated from the world, she has not heard about the Order or any of the stuff going on below. She only knows that she has been told by her elders that she is supposed to go and aid the new avatar in his journey, and that is what she will do. Now, descending from her temple for the first time in her life, she is not quite ready to discover the horrible state her world is in.
