If the nurse used a needle or other sharp object to get at his blood, he didn’t pay attention to it. He had a phobia of needles and as he got closer to the nurse. He closed his eyes, put his head down, and sprinted faster until he heard the floor of the hallway under his feet. He opened his eyes and saw he was inside the long hallway behind the nurse. He started to slow down to a trot as he let out a sigh. “One obstacle down, about a million to go,” Seth said to himself as he proceeded to his class. He then realized what time it was thanks to a clock on the wall and cursed, “Shit! I’m going to be late!” he started to sprint again. He pushed himself to the point his legs felt like they were going to fall off. The burning sensation in his legs made him wince as he felt the cramps start. When he got to the stairs he took them three at a time before he made it to the right floor. Seth saw the door to his class and quickly used one more spurt of adrenaline to get him through the thresh hold. He ran into the class and put on the brakes. His new sneakers made him slide on the floor for a few feet before he came to a stop. He stood like a statue; a metal statue since he had forgotten he still had metal on his body. He quickly looked up at the clock on the wall. 8:29 “Oh thank god,” Seth said with a metallic twang in his voice. That made him realize he had left the metal on his body. He looked at his arm and said, “Whoops, forgot I had you on” the metal liquefied and seeped back into his body. The duffle bag he had been holding slipped from his shoulder and hit the floor as metal tools clanged inside. The sound made him jump and when he found the source he laughed at himself, “probably should have left some of you at home.” He then picked up his bag and found a vacant seat.
