Name: Alice Hughes Appearance: At eleven Alice was a scrawny girl with sun kissed tanned skin from running around outside. Her brown hair ends in a slight curl that's usually tugged back into a ponytail of some kind, never liking it in her face but her mother refusing to let her just shave her head bad. The only thing that really stands out about her versus any other 11 year old is a smattering of freckles covering her face, the big smile she usually has at least 99% of the time, and her eyes which were a sparkling bright green like the color of leaves in the sun. Brief Personality: This is a child who is the opposite of unhappy. Not that she was peaceful. She was hard headed and prone to a flaring of her temper. She was the kind of kid who sometimes got into fights with other kids. But was fairly quick to forgive as well. She didn't see the point in holding a grudge and never really hated anyone enough to do so. Then again she never had enough of a reason to do so. She doesn't really pick up on things quickly but she works hard and is willing to put in the effort to succeed. It just takes her a little bit longer to do it. Then again that made the success all the sweeter. She is never good at straight forward logic things however. Struggling with things like math and history over English and P.E. Her original dream was to become a famous athlete of some kind, but this new information threw that for the loop. She wasn't sure what she wanted anymore, wrapped up in the excitement of being a witch. Brief History: She lead something of a normal life. Her parents suddenly died when she was 5, leaving her in the custody of her 20 year old sister, Marianne. The girl had a good home and life exclusively because of the efforts of her older sister and her extended family providing babysitting and outside support to the both. They hit rough patches together and due to their relationship being both sisters and parent child, they supported one another as best they could. Marianne did the best she could with the money she made from her little office job. They weren't the most well-off pair but Alice was fed and clothed and between Marianne's efforts and gifts from their extended family, Alice had toys and whatever she needed on top of that as well. Alice preferred playing outside and running with the neighbor kids anyway, constantly coming home at the end of the day dirty and covered in scrapes and bruises. Of course it threw all of them for a loop when Alice got the letter and a visit to help introduce them into the Wizarding World. Alice took to it like a very curious duck to water and while Marianne was more hesitant and suspicious (she was very protective of Alice) she never made Alice feel unaccepted for this sudden new part of her.
