She wanted to slap the both of them for how they were acting, though it seemed William was more inclined to be up front about his feelings, at least. Vera, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with him. She would have to get a word with her later once she was feeling better. She had other matters to attend to, it seemed. The Lord Major was having none of it. Her apology flustered him a bit, as she expected it would, but it seemed he wouldn't let sleeping dogs lie. So be it, he wanted to chastise her and Haakon. If it made him feel better about himself and his post, what was she to deny him such an honor? After all, she was some star out of the United States in a different country from her own dealing with things outside of her wheelhouse. Surely there was nothing better going on that needed his attention, like his niece for example? Before she could say what she was feeling, Haakon spoke up. She let him get his words out and was genuinely touched. He was sticking up for her despite all of this. Truly, he was an ally where she needed one most. She wasn't about to let him fall on his sword on his own though. "It's all right Haakon. We'll listen to what the good Lord Major has to say to us and we'll put all of this behind us. I'd rather get it out as soon as possible and I'll just freshen up later once Vera gets some well-deserved rest. Ready when you are, Lord Major." She felt somewhat giddy being alongside her new ally and close friend. Truly, nothing could stop them both.
