■ Singularity pulls them in quick, but she can't move while it's active and she can't use her OP ki attacks. That said, she can always cancel the move if she sees something coming and jump out of the way, or use the Gravity Lens. Hm. I don't want it to be super duper easy to counter, just like a solid ranged grapple effect. Maybe if it wasn't as hard to dodge?
When you say you don't want it easy to be countered, you also have to consider that it's a move that basically teleports the opposing person to her. My understanding was that it's a high-risk, high-reward, kind of move. Which was fine with me, but you're basically saying that she can effectively negate the move's weaknesses...
I was hoping that the one-shot limit on it would make it less like a regular attack, but yeah. Would it be more permissible if I dropped the time to like, four seconds? Savo also suggested that it slows down Verga as well. Other option is making it a once per day shot instead of once per hour.
Even if it has a limit, I still think the ability to slow everything down around her is ridiculous. In a fighting game context, that'd be a super. I'd allow more shots if it was a projectile move that could be dodged.
■ I was again sorta hoping the shot limit would make that less troublesome, since she can only use it three times, where Jaden doesn't have that kind of limit. I could drop the shot limit down to two, and drop the range down.
But Jaden also can't use it instantly, and it doesn't come with an explosion effect. My problem isn't really the range, or how many times she can use it, but how fast she can, and the explosion. Savo suggested that it comes with a "charge" that allows her to do a quicker, short-ranged, teleport, without the explosion that leaves her disoriented.
■ I'd started off trying to slot her into some specific role or archetype, but I was having trouble with it, and the general consensus in the chat was just go for a character and see how she landed once personality and backstory were finished. I ended up with an emotionally stunted person who, after going through an emotional, messy, and unhappy time in her life, decided to escape all that and devote the rest of her life to tracking down power wherever she could find it. And I thought a moveset that was less a cohesive set of interlocking skills, like Justin's or Jaden's, and more a collection of specific high-powered ki-moves was what would fit best for the character. I'd hoped that them all being vaguely astrophysics and light/energy/gravity themed might be enough to tie them together a bit more, but if you guys still have issues I could tweak them up a bit more. sorry have to leave literally right now but I'll be back soon can answer other question in discor
My problem is that she can do a bit too much, a bit too well. Again, let's take a look at some of the other characters. Jonas fights using trickery, Inanna is a portal-based zoner, Brenda is focused on brute force rushdown. I can get a good idea of their archetype by reading their movelists, I can't really with Verga. Personally, going off of her backstory/characterization, I get the idea that she's all about a relentless offense, but a weak defense. But, that's just me.
