I used to use shapeshifters as plot devices in stories... when I was twelve. Shit's overdone now. Like news reporters becoming superheroes, rich people buying superpowers, and super scientists in lab accidents. Once you see it a dozen times you just need something new. 

The ending of this arc might have a bit of an Injustice feel to it. The knife Batman's looking for won't be here... and for good reason. And the post-mission scene in the Bat-Cave will... well I don't wanna spoil it. Where will Slade be in the end? Who am I gonna pick up as a character in the next arc? And what shape will Batman be in moving forward?
