I will be employing a variety of mechanical wonders against the enemy, like the beforementioned traps and caltrops, to some much nastier surprises. 

I will also be making some fortifications: I have a cool idea for a few mobile defenses that could prove effective against overwhelming odds. And I have a ton of ideas for catapults and trebuchets that could devastate enemy forces.
