She also tries to be an active member in the community and participates in all of the village's events when she isn't stuck in the clinic. She is quick to warn others if she believes they are pushing themselves too hard, but sometimes forgets to take her own advice. She is often described by others as motherly and patient, only scolding those who put themselves in extremely dangerous situations.

She only left the village in order to go to college and eventually medical school. But as soon as she graduated, she came back to Willows Valley and opened her own medical clinic. It is her pride and joy. Her parents had retired, and Kathy currently lives with them to help take care of them.
