What do you mean by Yggdrasil/New World for NPCs?

Also, is buying a slave a legit way to get an NPC companion/servant? I have an idea for a loyal catgirl assassin for Selena's farm's attendant.

And I would also like to ask if we're gonna have a shared base of operation like Momonga or will we go on our own ways? If the former, then Selena's farm will need to be relocated.
